My name is Dave Boatman and I co-own Valhalla Ranch with my wife Jo.
I obtained some of my farrier experience in England and when I moved to America I completed Red Tomlinson's Farrier school in Daytona, Florida. I qualified with distinction and became a certified Farrier and a member of The Brotherhood of Working Farriers Association (BWFA).
I have extensive experience with horses, competing on the Rodeo circuit and working as a Western Riding Instructor/Trainer.

I am well versed in all aspects of barefoot hoofcare. I have a special interest in laminitic and metabolic horses. I have completed Eleanor Kellon's coursework, including the following courses: NRC Plus, Nutrition as Therapy, Cushings and Insulin Resistance, Understanding Bloodwork, and Comprehensive Care of the Older Horse. I have extensive experience in the application of all types of glue on hoof protection, including EasyCare, Renegade, Epona, and GluShu products.
Currently stocking EasyCare glue on horse shoes, including the Easyboot GlueOns, Octos, LoveChilds, and Versas. I also carry a limited supply of GluShu products.
Hoofcasting either over the barefoot or with the application of a steel or aluminum horseshoe available.

Former endurance rider with several equines, over 5000 competition miles on barefoot horses.

I trim within 1 hour of Port Orange, Florida.

I attended trimming school at Equinextion in Canada in 2012, followed by apprenticeship (2 years). I held a client base in upstate NY for 8 years, followed by the last 2 years here in Florida.

I am not a traditional farrier in that do not apply shoes, however I studied & specialize in a balanced barefoot trim that allows the horse to function at its best.
