Since 1996 we have provided students aged 7-17 the opportunity to learn riding from the ground up. They start bareback and earn their saddles and reins. Our focus is on creating a lifelong set of skills and love for horses. We are experientially based and welcome students from other barns who are willing to be flexible and try a way to relate to horses that offers a deep connection to all that is horse, the skills to go from the paddock to the the ring to the trails all in a non-competitive environment. We will be offering 6, week long summer camp sessions . Ages 6-17 years welcome. Campers will ride 2 times per day, swim, participate in horse learning activities, arts and crafts and more. Safety is our number one concern and horse safety is the first thing gone over every morning. Hunt seat, saddle seat , dressage and western are the seats available to the riders. Summer Horse Camp is for campers (8 - 17 years old) who love horses. Our program focuses on all things related to horses including English or Western riding lessons (up to 2 hours per day depending on skill level and planned activities), stable management, care and grooming of horses, methods of preparing for horse shows. All instruction is tailored to the skill level and specific needs of each camper from beginner (steering, post-trotting/jog, basic pole-work, etc.) to more advanced (seat and position in canter, jumping, and pattern work, etc.).

We will only be accepting 6 campers per week in order to provide more riding time for each camper. Campers DO NOT SHARE HORSES. Each camper will be assigned a horse/pony for the entire week that they will be responsible for caring for. At our camp the youth will be hands on horses most of the time that they are here.... As part of its traditional summer camp program, Rockbrook offers an extensive equestrian program. It combines qualified staff, experienced horses, and excellent facilities to create an atmosphere where campers can advance their riding skills, expand their horsemanship knowledge, and enjoy riding with friends. Our equestrian staff is qualified to teach a wide range of riders. Young beginners play mounted games and get to learn all about their favorite horses, while others may learn to post the trot, or canter or jump. More advanced riders may get to jump through gymnastics or over natural obstacles. The Rockbrook summer camp horseback riding program is based on the American system of forward riding, a system used by many top hunter-jumper, eventing, and dressage riders.
