Julie Ely knows of what she teaches. She qualified and showed at indoors on the large pony, Lyn-Lee Pinata and the Jr. Hunter, April under the guidance of nationally know instructor Karen Healey. As a junior she competed in Medal, USET and Maclay classed with occasional top prizes.
After her junior years she settled in Atlanta, GA. There her students received top local awards. She also showed many young horses, introducing them to the show ring in divisions such as Pre-Green. Julie was the barn manager for Terry Brown’s Showcase LTD stables the last years she lived in Atlanta. In 1990 Julie moved to Dauphin, PA and opened High Standards Stable.
From there she has trained and shown numerous horses from Baby-Green to 1st year Green including High Life (Champion First Year Green Conformation at Milestone) and Security Blanket (ribbons Legacy Cup and Blue Rock horse shows.)
Julie coached Lindsay Vulich, now a trainer for Dickinson College Equestrian Team. Julie coached her on Now Appearing to a 3rd and 6th at the Devon Horse Show in the Small Junior Hunter Division and a Zone II championship in Small Juniors for 2 years.
Julie has trained with, or run clinics for George Morris, Victor Hugo-Vidal, Karen Healey, Terry Brown, Frank Madden, Bobby Braswell, Ray Texel, John Roper, Scott Hofstetter and Jeff Ayres, She especially enjoys judging and giving clinics having traveled from Panama, Flordia and the North East.... We are a double A rated hunter/jumper show barn with a lesson barn feel. Spectacular training facility with professional instruction second to none. All training programs are based on the riders goals and his/her horse's potential. Our students learn how to ride and perform under the watchful eye of a Ph'd level performance analyst who has been training professional and Olympic level athletes for the past 25 years. All "on-site" horses have performed at the highest level shows in the country and are used for those who don't have their own horse. We strive to make each private training session a learning experience, with the student and horse coming away from each session a little better than before they started. I am a second generation professional horseman. I started riding at the age of 3. I competed in the Medal/Mclay finals for three consecutive years. I started competing in Junior Jumpers when I was 14. I competed in my first International competition at the age of 14. I rode extensively with George Morris, Victor Hugo-Vidal, Joey Darby, and Candice King. I lived and worked in europe for six months after I graduated from college and rode many young horses and stallions. And competed on a weekly basis. I started competing at Grand Prix level in 1999. I have placings at that level in Atlanta, Wellington, Lake Placid, The Hamptons, PA, NJ, Aiken, and NC. I operate a trianing showing and sales barn outside of Doylestown PA. Olivia DeCesar has 23 years of experience in training hunters and jumpers for the show ring. She's competed on the 'A' circuit throughout the East Coast with great sucess. Her horses have been year end award winners in both local and national hunter/jumper organizations. She specializes in bringing along young prospects and retraining difficult horses for the hunter ring or for pleasure riding.
