Our facility is located on 140 acres of varied terrain along the Finley River. It's perfect for getting horses accustomed to riding outside the arena and preparing them for things encountered along the trail. We are experienced horse lovers here and enjoy and respect each of our equine guests. We are not here to cowboy your horse into submission, but instead to build their confidence and trust in themselves and the leadership of the rider.

Here your horse will gain the confidence and experience required to remain composed in almost any situation. Our goal is to get your horse riding safely and confidently in the arena and out on the trail both alone and in the company of other horses. We want your horse to reach a level of experience where instead of feeling panic when encountering a new situation they are curious and confident. We teach them to think out challenges rather than panic. We pride ourselves on turning horses into safe confident partners.

Whenever possible at the end of their training here we like owners to come and spend time riding their horse with our trainers. This way when you take your horse back him you are comfortable and confident and a true partnership between you and your horse has been firmly established.

What is Working Equitation?

At the international level, WE is a four-phase sport which combines the art and disciplines of classical dressage with the agility and control required when working horses in the field (ranch horse).

Based on the traditional horsemanship used on continental cattle farms in Europe, the horse and rider are tested on their skill, speed, and accuracy. The sport began as a competition in Italy in 1996 and has since gained popularity worldwide in countries including Portugal, Spain, Mexico and France.

The four-phase competitions are ridden entirely with only one hand on the reins in the walk and canter. They comprise an advanced dressage test, followed by an obstacle course, judged on style. Competitors are then required to ride a timed obstacle course judged on speed with a final element consisting of a cattle-penning test.

When I was very young I began competing at playdays and went on to compete in high school rodeo, where I received many awards, college scholarships, ribbons, belt buckles and saddles.
I competed through college and I am currently hauling two competitive barrel horses, both of which I started from two year olds.

At Rebellion Performance Horses it is my goal to provide quiet, respectful horses for in and out of the arena. I am a young, responsible, motivated trainer with a lifetime of horse experience, sixteen years spent competing in rodeo and horse shows as well as working ranches and nearly a decade of starting colts for a variety of disciplines. I was also fortunate enough to spend a year as an apprentice with NRHA trainer and well known colt starter Brent Loseke.

A heritage of Montana cattle ranching and work experience in the heart of 'Horse Country USA' has given me the opportunity to develop a colt starting program that combines tried and true cowboy methods of starting young horses with the more polished methods I have studied since moving to Texas. Most importantly I allow each young horse to develop at their own speed and never push them too far beyond their mental and physical capabilities. The correct balance of patience and hard work makes for eager and willing horses ready work in the rodeo and show arena as well as on the ranch. $600/Month

Training - If your horse already knows the basics but needs some further education or just isn't performing at the level you want I am here to help. There is no need for barrel horses that can't walk down the alley or rope horses that won't stand flat footed so I make it a point to keep all training as low stress as possible to ensure the best results for you and your horse. $600/month

Tune-Ups - Sometimes a horse gets injured or develops a bad habit. Why put them into full training when 30 days could be all they need? 30 days of concentrated work focusing on the cause of the problem or simply a month of slow, steady work to get them legged back up and ready to compete. $500/Month

Lessons - A limited number of lesson spots are available at Rebellion Performance Horses, for youth and adults. Instruction focuses on horsemanship first and competition second. $50/lesson (minimum requirement of 4 lessons/month)
