They drink from NID and you only need to bring your own hay and I'll feed. Horses need to be wormed. I give my herd livestock grain/wormer. Just bring and I can help with that. We are a Gelding-only retirement only ranch in Newcastle, CA where horses free roam on 20 acres and are allowed to be horses. We accept no more than 10 retirement horses because keeping a small herd allows us to get to know the horses, their patterns and preferences. We have personal interaction with every horse every single day. If a horse seems grumpy, we notice. If a horse is not hanging out with his favorite buddy and is getting left behind, we notice.

Our goal is for our retirement horses to develop life-long bonds. Consistency in the herd (horses not coming and going) is a huge factor in their emotional well-being. As such, we accept only horses who need a permanent retirement solution - not those who are taking a year off for injury or need a temporary home. We ONLY have retired horses - we are not a boarding stable where horses are being constantly trailered in and out. We provide a peaceful, consistent environment. Retirement is all we do. And our horses become family.

Most of our boarding horses are from out of the area – we send regular video updates to owners and make sure you are included in their everyday lives. We also offer a 1,000sf AirBnB on the property for out of town horse parents to visit.

This pasture is 1.75 acres fully fenced with my 18 year old mare quarter horse

There is a two horse shelter that was just built 2/10/19. There is also lots of big heritage oaks on the property
I supply a feeder. There are also 2 water trophs on the property -120 gallon and 50 gallon.
There is a hitching rail that can be accessed with the hose and can be a wash station.
Included is an all metal tack cabinet that locks, located in the hay shed that can store any saddle, mats, bridles.

You are a 2.2 mile (23 minutes) ride away from the Bird Sanctuary which is 97 acres of land and trails you can ride on.

The Loomis Park where there is a horse arena and trails is only 2.4 miles away (7 minute drive, would need to trailer).

The Sterling point assembly area is 7 miles away (14 minute drive). You can park your trailer and ride down to the lake.
