Runaway Farm is a unique horse boarding facility. The farm is located on 140+acres in Columbia, CT., 20 minutes from UCONN and 15 minutes from ESCU. We offer flexible boarding options, affordable lessons, and horse leases (we have a few horses that are looking to get leased out with flexible and affordable leasing options!). We offer leases and lessons on our wonderful schoolmasters that are safe for all levels of riders. Some of our horses are schooled up to 3rd level dressage, and we also have horses that jump.

Our lesson programs have been designed to ensure each student develops a strong understanding of the fundamentals of riding and horsemanship. Each new rider will learn to handle, groom, tack up, and properly cool out and put away their own horse, along with equipment care and maintenance. Our goal is to make sure every rider can one day be fully independent.

In addition, our programs are set up to ensure success of the more intermediate and advanced riders. Our instructors focus heavily on goal setting. We allow each rider to set and think about their goals. We do not value show goals over other goals! We also do not require any of our students to show.

Hillside Stable provides 30 matted box stalls, in one large facility, with two well lit high ceiling aisle ways. There is a tack room complete with saddle racks and lockable tack lockers. We have an office/lounge that features a couch, table and chairs, microwave and refrigerator to store food/drinks while you are at the barn. There is an outdoor wash stall, round pen, all day turnout in small groups, as well as grass turnout for grazing. Large lighted 175 ft by 80 ft Indoor arena, 275 ft by 125 ft outdoor arena. We offer trailer parking at no additional charge. The barn has an apartment upstairs in which one of the owners lives. Hillside stable offers 37 acres of property in which to ride on, and the property connects to miles and miles of trails. Friendly family atmosphere, we are open to riders of all ages and disciplines of riding. We offer full and rough board, as well as many other additional services. All of our board options can be customized to fit you or your horses individual needs. We are open 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

Owner must clean stall daily, and provide their own bedding.

Owner is responsible for their own blanket changes.

Fortunato Farm is an immaculate, full service facility, providing excellent care with over 30 years of experience. We are located 10 minutes from the CT shoreline in the rural area of Killingworth CT. We offer a variety of options: 10X12 heated stalls w/interlocking mats, 10X10 stalls with individual paddock for 24/7 turn out & 200X100 pasture/run in shed. The140X60 Indoor riding arena & the 180X172 outdoor riding arena footing is prepped daily. We have more paddocks then we can count as new pastures are added yearly so we may accommodate our horses in groups or alone. Both wash stalls have hot water w/heat lamps, laundry room offers washer & dryer that can clean even the biggest blanket! Our viewing room is our gathering place (heated in the winter & cooled in the summer). This 26 acre piece of heaven boarders the state forest. We feed only the best quality hay, alfalfa & grain 3 times a day. Owners, Tim & Linda O'Hara are here to make you feel right at home as they live here too.
