Fortunato Farm is an immaculate, full service facility, providing excellent care with over 30 years of experience. We are located 10 minutes from the CT shoreline in the rural area of Killingworth CT. We offer a variety of options: 10X12 heated stalls w/interlocking mats, 10X10 stalls with individual paddock for 24/7 turn out & 200X100 pasture/run in shed. The140X60 Indoor riding arena & the 180X172 outdoor riding arena footing is prepped daily. We have more paddocks then we can count as new pastures are added yearly so we may accommodate our horses in groups or alone. Both wash stalls have hot water w/heat lamps, laundry room offers washer & dryer that can clean even the biggest blanket! Our viewing room is our gathering place (heated in the winter & cooled in the summer). This 26 acre piece of heaven boarders the state forest. We feed only the best quality hay, alfalfa & grain 3 times a day. Owners, Tim & Linda O'Hara are here to make you feel right at home as they live here too. We offer leases and lessons on our wonderful schoolmasters that are safe for all levels of riders. Some of our horses are schooled up to 3rd level dressage, and we also have horses that jump.

Our lesson programs have been designed to ensure each student develops a strong understanding of the fundamentals of riding and horsemanship. Each new rider will learn to handle, groom, tack up, and properly cool out and put away their own horse, along with equipment care and maintenance. Our goal is to make sure every rider can one day be fully independent.

In addition, our programs are set up to ensure success of the more intermediate and advanced riders. Our instructors focus heavily on goal setting. We allow each rider to set and think about their goals. We do not value show goals over other goals! We also do not require any of our students to show.

Runaway Farm is a unique horse boarding facility. The farm is located on 140+acres in Columbia, CT., 20 minutes from UCONN and 15 minutes from ESCU. Just under 20-acre facility located in Columbia, CT is offering individualized care with owners on site. All disciplines welcome! Our farm is quiet/low key with a friendly atmosphere. Our philosophy is that every contact with your horse is an opportunity for growth and learning.
