Hogany Tops Farm has been on sabbatical for some time due to my health and extensive surgery. I am so blessed to be able to relocate and open our doors again! We welcome everyone of all ages and levels to our program!

Hogany Tops has openings in our riding lesson and training programs and we would love to help you excel in your riding, whether it is for competition or pleasure, or to help you with your green horse/pony or your made up horse/pony continuing to improve! We teach and train at our facility or we can come to yours.

Hogany Tops Farm is a hunter jumper training and lesson barn located just outside of Dallas, TX, in beautiful Edgewood, TX, dedicated to establishing superior horsemanship with physically fit, willing and content, well trained horses and riders. Accordingly, a consistent training routine and at least a minimum lesson program are pertinent to accomplish this goal. Training and instruction, specializing in hunters, jumpers and equitation are designed with the horse and rider in mind and customized to fit each one’s individual abilities and objectives to reach their full potential. We focus on correct equitation in the jumpers as well as the hunters. All good riding is based on dressage as a foundation. Hours spent on the flat ultimately produce a fluid ride over fences in the hunters and an accurate and powerful ride occurring in a timely fashion in the jumpers.
All levels of riders, beginner through advanced are welcome in our lesson program and we have wonderful lesson horses for those who do not have one! HTF provides the opportunity to horse show at both local and national competitions. Hogany Tops Farm offers quality horses and ponies for sale or lease.
Hogany Tops Farm originated in 1985 in Macon, Georgia. The business is owned and operated by Jo Beard, who was born, raised and educated in Virginia. Her love for and association with horses began at an early age, in the family barn, which at the age of eight led her to horse shows and fox hunts with her father. Her journey with horses continued to the professional level when at the age of 18 she was schooling, training, and showing horses and ponies and catch-riding at horse shows. Her professional focus centered on hunters and jumpers and as she developed her own riding skills, she became involved in the sport of steeplechase racing and took that to a highly successful professional level as one of two licensed female steeplechase jockeys in the United States. She has subsequently trained and owned hundreds of show horses and has consistently been successfully involved in both local and national horse show competition. Today, her focus is on the interest of her clients and their goals and aspirations. She has the experience (over 40 years of teaching all levels), and the skills and patience to take them where they want to go. Both Jo’s children and grandchildren are also very successful and well known in the hunter jumper world! Jo’s extensive experience in the industry has created a wide network of friends and professional associates nationwide. Referrals will be gladly given upon request.

Silver Lake Ranch offers full care stall ($325) and pasture ($200) boarding available between Mineola and Grand Saline as well as self care stall ($175) and pasture ($100/$150) options. We are located 15 minutes from I-20 on Hwy 80. Our barn has beautiful 10 x 12 stalls with concrete floors and mats, fans and auto-waters. Daily turn-out with premium feeds and hay fed twice daily. Stalls cleaned daily, twice if weather does not permit turnout. Turn-out into 5-7 acre pastures seeded for year-round grass with shelters in small groups (2-3 horses). Facility amenities include 10 miles of trails, open 200 by 130 ft arena, outdoor 200 by 200 ft arena, 40 ft round pen by arena, lighted round pen by barn, wash rack and tack room. We board horses overnight or long term. Our trainer gives lessons to beginners or experienced riders. Our indoor arena is available for rent or events.

We are a small facility dedicated to the field of speed horses. I show Barrel and Pole horses so I try to cater to individuals who are also involved in this sport. Full care only includes feed, Tifton hay and bedding. Stalls are a nice comfortable size and daily turnout is provided. $300 is the base rate. A Walking Horse Ranch is a breeding ranch of Tennessee Walking Horses. We raise gaited horses of beautiful colors.
