We are a small family owned farm, with a long line of experienced horsemanship, our horses are personally cared for and loved by our family.

We keep only a few horses at a time, so that each one of them receives personal attention! Our "moms/dads" owners are always more than happy to share comments about our farm with anyone looking to come board with us.

We love visits anytime from our owners, and we will help accommodate with lodging and airport pick ups. We have made many new friends from all over.

Rocky Top Ranch is a private family owned property open 7 days a week. Having been in the horse business for many years and as an owner of 4 horses I understand that each horse has he/her own unique needs. We offer individual attention for every horse, and will work with you to accommodate your horse’s needs.
We offer full, partial and pasture board on 62 acres located in Central VA in beautiful Appomattox County. Easy access from ST RT 460 and only 20 minutes from Liberty University and Sweet Briar College. We provide private or small group turnout. Multiple horse discount and discount for any referrals that use our facility.
7 stall barn: Each 10’x12’ stalls consist of 2x6 tongue and groove yellow pine boards, sealed for ease of cleaning and sanitizing. Fronts are 3” on center prison boards with sliding doors, all stalls are sawdust bedded and are cleaned morning and evening. Lights and individual fans in each stall with ceiling fans in the main aisle. Hot / cold wash pit, tack room and feed room.
Pasture boarding with large run in sheds, salt blocks and ample water supply. We limit the number of horses we board to prevent overgrazing of fields. We separate mares and geldings to avoid any conflicts.
The Ranch offers over 4 miles of riding trails, round pen and outside arena. Free trailer parking for boarders. Property includes two entrances / exits. 70’ wide entrance with drive thru to exits with no need to back up or turn around. 80’ from state highway to gate for truck and trailer, no parking on roadway for safety of owner and horse.
Provide clinics, first aid and wound care
On site lounge with work out equipment, pool table, full bath, TV, picnic table and outdoor grill.
We also provide transportation for all of you hauling needs with a 38’ Cherokee trailer that can accommodate up to 5 horses with box stalls. References provided from previous horse hauls.

We are a small horse farm with just 7 stalls. Very quiet and relaxed. Our horses are turned out in grass fields, with round bales as needed. We feed high quality hay that was cut on the property. Our horses are fed on an individual basis to ensure they get what they need. Our stalls are 12x12 with high ceilings and we use pine shavings. We have a new sand ring and trails around the property to ride on. We will also be constructing a regulation size dressage ring. The horses are checked each night before bed. The Powhatan Equestrian Center at Quarterfield Stables is located conveniently in central Powhatan Country, VA just off Rte. 60.

Stall board is $350 per month and includes grain twice per day, hay, water, access to mineral blocks, and high quality bagged shavings are used in stalls.

The stalls are large and extremely well ventilated. In addition, the turnout pastures are large and well managed.

There is a tack room as well as a wash area. The arena is large with excellent footing and has outdoor lighting.

A round pen with sand footing is also another excellent feature of the facility.
Training and lessons are available with an qualified instructor. All disciplines are welcome.
