Riding instructor Briana Haberer is certified with the American Riding Instructor Association (ARIA) to teach beginner to intermediate level Eventing and Recreational riding. She has been riding and training horses for over 17 years. She began giving riding instruction 4 years ago.

_ EquiManiacs Riding School is a small youth oriented riding program that offers affordable riding lessons that are safe and fun yet challenging. Our lessons focus on basic balanced English riding and beginning level Eventing (Dressage, Cross Country, and Stadium Jumping). Overall horsemanship and horse care are taught in riding lessons and in unmounted instruction. 34 years of experience as a resistance-free trainer/teacher, balanced and correct forward movement is the key to a happy horse. Troma was a ex-vet tech, travelled from MAFB California (CircleMstables) with basic western/ english roots to the dressage, eventing and jumping world of the SOUTH Kentucky/Tennessee. She sold off two books of equine businesses in the south that are still going to this day. Residing in California, New York and most of her EQUINE EXPERIENCE has been in the heart of the south. Yasmin Emery-Brownlie, owner and trainer, is a California native whose involvement
with horses spans nearly 40 years. She attended college and graduate schools on the East Coast while also spending nine years training with Olympic veteran and coach George H. Morris. She has worked at numerous show barns and participated in show jumping competitions throughout the US and Canada. She was the owner and trainer at South Lake equestrian in El Dorado Hills. Following the sale of that facility, the focus shifted from a full time training program to horse sales and limited training to family members and sale clients. We have a lesson program suited for everyone! Private, semi private, and group lessons available. Children will enjoy learning the basics and playing games while they improve their skills. Children must be at least 8 years old to participate in our group lesson program. Adults can learn to ride or get a refresher in our beginning and advanced programs. All lessons include grooming and saddling the horses and safety instruction. Individuals can focus on trail riding, English or Western, equitation and more. Kelly Williams provides specialized training and coaching for the endurance and competitive trail riding athlete. We believe that in order to have a successful endurance horse with a long, competitive career you must first have a well-balanced and responsive horse. An endurance horse does not just “go down the trail." All of our horses are cross trained with dressage basics and cavaletti/ground pole exercises to develop balance and willingness. Conditioning is done on a variety of terrain including sand, rocks, hills, dirt roads and single track trails. Horses in training are exposed to bicycles, hikers, ATVs, water crossings and road riding. All horses are taught correct trot outs and standing quietly for veterinarian examinations.
We also understand that an endurance horse is nothing without excellent nutrition and farrier care. At Knicker Knob Stable we pride ourselves on having fit, healthy horses that look like they could step foot into the show ring at any time. New students come to us quite sure of the discipline they wish to learn; English or Western, dressage, gymkhana, jumping or trail riding. Our philosophy is "Learn to ride, before you decide" we teach you to ride a horse first before you decide on your specialty! Our recipe for successful horse education is simple: start with common sense, awareness, respect, consistency and humor. Slowly add some confidence, muscle, balance, and a sense of adventure. Often times you'll see students go 'round and 'round in an arena. We use all 8 acres of the property including the arena, learning through games, drill routines, trail obstacles and friendly competitions both bare back and saddled. In the picturesque countryside just south of Sacramento, California, at the end of a long driveway lined by overhanging trees you will find Hickerson Arabians. Sitting on 8.5 acres of beautiful land, you will arrive and first see both young and retired horses in pasture where they spend their time playing and enjoying the breeze and shade. The show barn and indoor arena sit at the back of the property where the show horses have a view of the pond from their spacious 12×12 stalls. With Todd’s home situated in the center of the property, the horses have the 24/7 care and attention they deserve.

Todd Hickerson began his journey with Arabians when he was just five years old. He had a Purebred Arabian, Trinity Dawn, that he rode Endurance with. When he was just eight, they completed their first 50 mile ride and came in 2nd out of 80 riders. At twelve, they rode in the Tevis Cup. The Tevis Cup was started in 1955, it is the oldest modern day endurance ride that has been the inspiration and model for the most challenging endurance rides worldwide. Each rider who completes the 100 mile course from Tahoe to Auburn within the 24 hour limit and whose mount is judged fit to continue is awarded the coveted silver Completion Award Buckle. The Tevis Cup trophy is awarded to the person who completes the 100-Mile One-Day course in the shortest amount of time and whose horse is in sound condition and fit to continue. Todd was the youngest to complete the Tevis Cup, until just a few years ago!

Todd is a nationally recognized and respected Arabian and Half-Arabian horse trainer who has trained, shown, bred, bought, sold and marketed hundreds of Arabian and Half-Arabian horses. He has produced U.S. and Canadian National Champions, Reserve Champions and Top Tens. His knowledge, talent, integrity and work ethic are all reasons that he is highly respected in the horse community.
