Hello there! My style of teaching is based around the principle that bettering one's self will directly benefit their ability to work in unity with their horse. I firmly believe that what we bring to the relationship defines the limitations of our partnership, and that the majority of horsemanship is about building yourself up to be the person your horse needs. I always seek to empower each horse and human as individuals first, and then as a unified partnership. My lessons are centered around building mindfulness within ourselves and our horses, emotional resilience and regulation, and creating better understanding and practice of how to effectively communicate with our horses. Perhaps you are struggling with anxiety around riding, or your horse spooks too much for your comfort. Maybe the riding part is going great but you desire a deeper connection and feeling of togetherness with your equine partner. Or it could be that you're interested in work at liberty, and your horse is perfect when on the line but the second he's loose he wants nothing to do with you. Year-Round Lesson Program at Camp Kern!

Just when you thought Camp Kern was just for summer camp and school groups! Circle K Ranch, located at Camp Kern, has a fun, safe, educational, and progressive lesson program that is offered all year long. Our instructors are patient and knowledgeable and will help students of all ages achieve their horseback riding and horsemanship goals.

Lessons are offered in English, Western, Dressage, and Jumping, with a strong emphasis on good horsemanship, horse care, and sportsmanship. Students spend most of their lesson time on horseback, but will also participate in ground lessons on topics such as; grooming, tacking, leading, lunging, horse first aid, horse terms, barn management, and more!

With more then 50 horses and many different instructors there you can come to learn anything you want! We are a fit for students of all dispositions and experience level!

Schedule & Rates

Scheduling is flexible and lessons are offered most weekday evenings as well as Sunday afternoons. Lesson times last for 1 hour, and students should plan to arrive to lessons 15 minutes early to start grooming and tacking their horses. Students should allow about 10 minutes after the lesson to un-tack, groom, and turn their horse out.

Semi-Private (2 students) : $30/ lesson

Western & English Horseback Riding Lessons, All Ages and Levels, General, Discipline Specific or Show, Confidence Building, Family Friendly Environment

I have over ten years experience riding, including a period of employment as a trail guide. Lessons would be at your home/or boarding facility on your own horse. I do have a lesson horse available if needed. I showed western pleasure in 4-h, have some experience in cutting, reining and mounted shooting. Lessons are $25/hour with discounts for purchasing packages.

Training:I do not finish horses but I can help solve some problems you may be having. In addition I really enjoy working with weanlings and yearlings groundwork etc. I will come to you if you have a round pen or you can board your horse(s) where I keep my own. I charge $1=100 /week plus mileage. Off site or $50/week + board if you choose to do that.

Includes a ride/working with your horse 5 days a week for 1-2 hours
I will also offer specialized services such as stall cleaning, barn upkeep, feeding, horse/house/pet sitting ($15/hour) and excercise riding ($20/hour)
