I've been riding in dressage and eventing for 10+ years, have a background with United States Pony Club, and worked for various barns over the years. This has given me a well rounded experience of teaching, riding, and horse care. I am offering lessons and training to any variety of horses and ponies and people. I've taught 6 y/o to 60+ y/o with varying levels of experience, and I've worked with OTTBs, foals to yearlings, and ponies. In my lessons, I hope to create a conversations where questions are encouraged, and the rider and horse are comfortable and relaxed. I also have a strong emphasis on safety for both the horse and rider. I am more than willing to travel to you and your horse on evenings and weekends. I have over ten years experience riding, including a period of employment as a trail guide. Lessons would be at your home/or boarding facility on your own horse. I do have a lesson horse available if needed. I showed western pleasure in 4-h, have some experience in cutting, reining and mounted shooting. Lessons are $25/hour with discounts for purchasing packages.

Training:I do not finish horses but I can help solve some problems you may be having. In addition I really enjoy working with weanlings and yearlings groundwork etc. I will come to you if you have a round pen or you can board your horse(s) where I keep my own. I charge $1=100 /week plus mileage. Off site or $50/week + board if you choose to do that.

Includes a ride/working with your horse 5 days a week for 1-2 hours
I will also offer specialized services such as stall cleaning, barn upkeep, feeding, horse/house/pet sitting ($15/hour) and excercise riding ($20/hour)

Stonegate is one of th emost elite riding barns in the Coolville area. Owner: Karen Hiehle has coached kids to the Maclay Finals, Pony Finals, and USEF Medal finals.Her son Michael Hiehle has his own IEA team which caters to the highschool aged children who wish to gain show experience and ride a variety of horses. Last year Michael coached his very first team all the way to zones which is only second to nationals. The approach to training either you or your horse is tailored specifically to your needs. There is plenty of opprtunity to show and gain the upmost confidence and experience. Shows are hosted regularly in the large lighted indoor arena and cost very little to attend.If you are looking to attend larger shows Karen and Michael travel frequently to Culpeper, Chagrin, Lexington(VA), and many other show circuits. Besides the highscool team, there is and intercollegiate team. The Ohio University Equestrian Team rides at the barn and often stays around during the summer to ride on the local and rated circuits.
Our boarding accomidations are very well kept due to our fantastic barn help: Justin Martin and Josh! There is a more affordable shedrow barn, that is situated next to the outdoor ring, which is getting re-done this summer as it needs some newer footing. There is also the slightly more expensive indoor barn, which is located next to the indoor arena. Both barns include a wash bay and two full tack rooms.
If your horse is in need of trainig, there are a few of the better riders, who often take on a few summer project horses.

Lunar Winds Stables' lesson program is based on training ideals that strengthen bonds and communicate with horses through their mind, voice, emotions, and body language. Through riding, they learn how their seat affects the horse, and learn how to recognize different types of horse behavior and what could be done to make problem behaviors better.
