Horseback Riding in Virginia

Our lessons for beginners include ground time, grooming and tacking instruction. Once young riders are proficient in this process, then lesson time will begin when mounted. All riders need to wear proper riding boots and a safety approved helmet. New riders must have a copy of a current medical insurance card and a signed release waiver on file. Lessons may include mounted exercises as well as theory lessons (unmounted). We ride both in and out of the ring for a well-balanced riding education. Travelling to your barn for lessons and clinics is available. Please call for rates. 24 hour cancellation notice is required.

Stonehouse Equestrian, LLC located in Stafford County, VA, offers Balanced-Seat Horseback Riding Lessons, Training and Show Coaching services in Stafford and Fauquier Counties of Virginia to riders ages 4 and up, from beginner through advanced. We also offer beginner Western Riding lessons.
Our head instructor and trainer has been involved in the horse industry for nearly 35 years. She has competed successfully in the disciplines of Hunters, Jumpers and Combined Training and has created Stonehouse Equestrian as a vehicle to pass on her knowledge and skills to other riders.

Kim Yotko is an A.R.I.A. certified instructor in both Hunt Seat and Dressage. She has been teaching since 1976 on our own quality horses and ponies. Kim has quite a comprehensive background in riding. As a junior she rode at the esteemed Jane Dillon's Junior Equitation School, as well as being a member of the United States Pony Club. More recently, Kim Has received further Dressage training in Germany, Portugal, and Spain under the tutelage of world class instructors and Olympians.
