Founded in 1991, we have dedicated our lives to learning and educating others in their equestrian pursuits. We not only have the practical experience from our own time in the saddle and from teaching over 3,000 people to ride, but we also have the professional, collegiate, and graduate school education to provide each of our riders with the most well-rounded education that they can receive from any lesson program.

We also offer clinics and seminars throughout the globe, on a variety of equine/equestrian related topics, and are the leader in educating other instructors to be better educators when it comes to their students. When riding instructors need assistance in improving their skills they come to us for their continuing education. Located in the heart of Brentwood Tennessee The Trish Franks School of Riding LLC is geared to the beginner thru intermediate adult or Youth rider. The Riding School has 7 certified instructors with accumulative experience of over 200 years. Adult professional instructors specialize in developing the beginner rider to enjoy English or Western Disciplines.

The latest addition to the team of instructors is a Natural Horsemanship Instructor with years of training and competes regularly in the Mustang Makeover Contest. Specialities of The Trish Franks School of Riding is English Equitation over Fences and the western discipline of Reining. Both disciplines have a year round show schedule for those that want the competitive side of horses. The school currently has 43 lesson/show horses available for instruction and competition at all levels. Students do not have to own their own horses.

The school has a yearly Interscholastic Equestrian Team (IEA) for middle and high school students to compete in English and Western events. Instructors work together to formulate the perfect Riding plan for your student whether their desire is competition or for pleasure. Summers are filled with camps and "Barn Days" throughout the summer.

T.R.U.E. Success Horse Riding Lessons-

At Crossroads Ranch, we have a different approach than most ranches when it comes to riding because we believe that horseback riding is much more than sitting on a horse and learning to steer. We take a holistic approach to western-based riding with a philosophy that is whole-rider and whole-horse based. We believe that in order to become a safe, competent rider you must first learn about horse psychology and body language, motivation and fear, and safe handling and training.

With our curriculum based horsemanship courses (the only ones in the state) you will be taught the basics like equine first aid and hoof care as well as complex horse training methods like one rein stops, sending, and pressure based movement. These tools will not only make you a safer rider, but they will give you an understanding of horses that will make riding a much more enjoyable experience.

Adult Horse Riding Lessons-

Whether you're relatively new to horses or have owned them for years and want to better train your horses or fix behavioral challenges, our adult (12 and older) lessons have a comprehensive and detailed curriculum based focus designed to give beginning and advanced riders the skills and knowledge to understand horse behavior, care and riding. By providing a full ranch experience through horse interaction, exploring different riding situations (not just going around in circles in a round pen), and horse psychology, riders will leave each lesson with the knowledge in how to create a horse/rider relationship based on Trust, Respect, Unity and Expectations. Adult riders progress through a 3-phase track to horsemanship mastery with Path of the Horseman, Path of the Horsemaster and Path of the Scholar.

Youth Horse Riding Lessons-

Our youth (ages 5 to 11) lessons pull from the curriculum that the adults use and teach young riders important information like the six signs of horse behavior, how to tack up and horse as well as standard riding techniques. These classes are designed to be fun, build upon the student’s interest in horses and give them the necessary tools to become a confident and happy rider.

Each one of us has a responsibility as horsemen to train, guide and teach our horses to be willing partners. Achieving T.R.U.E. Success means learning to truly communicate and train a well-rounded horse for the purpose of pleasure or sport.
