Butler Equestrian is a hunter/jumper/equitation farm located on 20 acres of rolling hills. Our Equestrian Director and Trainer, Jennie Garraffa is a certified trainer with the United States Equestrian Federation. We have access to miles of trails on Seneca Park and an indoor and an outdoor riding ring. We are relaxed and focused on having fun. Qualified Instructor that will travel to you or you can ride at my facility using the school horses provided in the Poolesville/Montgomery County MD area. I specialize in finding your perfect seat for a comfortable and correct ride. My background is in hunt seat equitation on the flat and over fences, as well as training level dressage. I have been a rider most of my life, attended and graduated from Southern Seminary College in VA and rode on the intercollegiate open equestrian team under JT Tallon - courses included stable management, hunt seat equitation, equine biology. Currently, I personally ride only dressage but continue to teach hunt seat and training level dressage. Aisling Stables provides horseback riding lessons to students year round. Students vary of all ages, disciplines, and levels. Well-trained school horses are provided for lessons. Private lessons offer one on one instruction and are 45 minutes in length. Semi-privates consist of 2-3 riders per lesson and are 1 hr. Lead-line lessons are also available and include parent involvement with 15 minutes of horsemanship and 30 minutes of ride time. Package deals (four lessons) are available for students who wish to ride on a consistent basis. Lessons are discounted 10% and to be scheduled on the same day and time for each week, with packages to be used within five weeks time of purchase. My schedule at my Frederick location, Topline Equestrian Center, is so full I can't accept any new students who don't already have their own horse.

I may be able to fit in new students who have their own horse at a barn between Frederick and Annapolis, depending on schedule.

Trailer-ins are also welcome at both my Frederick and Highland locations.

My Highland location is also too full to accept new students who need a school horse...
HOWEVER: I may be able to make an exception for just the right person -
*FREE rent in exchange for part time work caretaking 4 geldings on site, approx. 10 to 12hrs per week
*5 days per week morning and evening chores
*morning chores include feeding and cleaning, 1hr/day on good weather days, 1.5hrs on inclement weather days
*evening chores include feeding and cleaning, 1hr/day most days, less if you're efficient
*chores may be done before you go to work a regular job and after you return at the end of the day
*the house has a nice view of the barn, and the 7 acre property is well away from any major roads so it is very quiet and peaceful
*wild turkeys and other wildlife do frequent the property
*private walk-in basement apartment with separate bath and very small kitchenette area
*no stairs to get into the basement, but you would need to walk through the grass around the front of the house from the parking area
*use of the pool and deck is included
*utilities may be negotiable if you wanted to work more than 5 days per week
*riding lessons / R+ horse training lessons may be negotiable if you wanted to do facility maintenance in addition to horse care
*no smoking on property

Here at Free Spirit Stables Horse & Pony Sponsorship enables an adult, child or numerous children to sponsor a horse or pony. Each person will be paired with his/her horse or pony and our farm will dedicate time and effort to teaching how to ride and care for the horse or pony properly.

Monthly Sponsorships includes a weekly Two-Hour session where our farm teaches FULL HORSE CARE which includes grooming, tacking, riding and feeding the horse or pony. We accept students from age three (3) through adult into the Program.

We have two horse shows at our farm each year, we also participate in other schooling shows. If your family or child dreams of having a horse or pony but in our back yard this is the place.
