Sunny Stables is located in Picturesque Highland County Va. We offer lessons for all ages and riding abilities and specialize in the English Discipline. Instruction is provided on any of our great lesson horses or on your own personal horse. Lessons are taught by a Virginia Intermont College Equine Major with over 20 years of expereience. I can start young horses, rehab, put training on greenies or low level horses and re train difficult or even "impossible" horses. I also teach.

I am a behavioral specialist, using liberty training (advanced groundwork) and classical Dressage technique/theory with an emphasis on biomechanics and "riding with humility" to achieve unity with your horse- making you and him/her reach for your potential and begin a journey of self transformation.

Horses will help you find yourself if you give respect, ask for respect, listen to them, and surrender your fear.

My training is Dressage based but I believe all horses need a versatile foundation and incorporate XC schooling, cavaletti, trail riding, and fun but challenging activities when appropriate to build confidence in the horse and rider. I teach riders of all ages and experience levels on their own horses in the comfort of their own facility. I can also travel to shows or schooling events.
