Baily Dent Equestrian is an established program located in just outside of Charlottesville, Va. at Millington Stables. Our facility boasts 50 stalls, 2 out door rings, spacious grassy turnout, and 1000+ acres of trails through Farmington Hunt Country. Baily Dent is our head trainer. She grew up riding and showing in Charlottesville, Virginia and has spent a lifetime showing at some of the most prestigious horse show in the country. Baily has successfully brought along many young horses and riders to achieve the same kind of success she has enjoyed throughout her career. Baily stresses good basics in her teaching and believes that this strong foundation is what brings riders success in and out of the show ring with their horses. Baily strives to use all forms of communication with her riders to identify how each individual learns best, be it visually, verbally or hepaticly. Swift Creek School of Equitation has been in practice since 1978, offering a convenient location with a great facility and accredited staff which includes, Jessie Clise Lohr (owner/trainer), Molly Alaimo and Ashley Smoral. At Mahalo Farm in Earlysville, VA, we provide riding and carriage driving lessons for children and adults. Hunter-jumper, western, dressage and combined driving disciplines are offered as well as basic horsemanship skills for recreational riders who just want to trail ride or have fun. Our approach to riding is based on a strong foundation of natural horsemanship methods, Alexander Technique and Pilates, balanced seat, minimal aids, consideration of the horse and fun and safety for the rider. Private and semi-private lessons are offered as well as longer 1/2 day and full day lesson programs or trail rides during weekends, holidays and vacations. We also go to several local shows each year, attend several hunter paces and even go fox hunting several times a year.
For experienced riders, we offer partial leases of our well-trained and well-behaved horses. It's almost like owning a horse without all the extra expenses. It's a great way to enjoy horses, see the Virginia countryside from horseback and know that someone else is caring for the horses when you aren't around.
We also offer field boarding to a limited number of horses. All pastures have run-in sheds, fresh water and shade. Organic principles are followed throughout the farm including feeding organically/transitionally grown hay during the winter.
Need your horse or pony trained to drive or want a better shoulder-in on your horse, we can help you. We accept a very limited number of horses for training.

Kelsey is an upper level eventing rider who recently moved to the Hanover area and is looking for some new students! Kelsey has competed her 2 horses from their first event to the CCI* and intermediate levels. She also has experience in dressage, jumpers, 4H, and polocrosse. Kelsey takes students to local horse trials and 4H shows, including the state 4H Championships. She can travel and accommodates trailer ins (has a nice set of show jumps and a handful of XC fences on her farm, with a dressage ring in the works). Country Meadow Farm, LLC has a dynamic team of instructors that are now accepting new students, beginner through advanced. We welcome all ages of riders 6 years old and up. We offer most disciplines with an emphasis based on groundwork to provide an understanding of the language of the horse. This will in turn translate to a balanced seat and correct use of the aids to achieve the optimum relationship with the horse that you desire. We value the horse as a partner in our goal setting, whether that be winning a national title or maximizing your enjoyment of trail riding. You can enjoy taking lessons on one of our program horses, or you can trailer your own horse to the farm for a more personal experience. We also are thrilled to travel to you for lessons or a clinic.
Shelby is a Certified Instructor, through the Certified Horsemanship Association (CHA), in both the Western and Hunter seat riding disciplines, as well as jumping. She has also achieved her Equine Facility Manager Certification through CHA. As the Virginia Representative for CHA, she would be thrilled to help others get their certifications in one of the many areas that CHA offers. Shelby is also an American Quarter Horse Association Professional Horseman, providing training, lessons and boarding at Country Meadow Farm, LLC. She is available for clinics throughout the year.
With a high level of standards, Shelby has hand selected a team of instructors to help her with beginner and intermediate lessons. Each individual has passed a skills test and has student taught under Shelby's supervision. In addition, each instructor has either achieved their instructor certification through CHA or is actively pursuing it.
Shelby is available for judging, as a certified and carded open horse show judge. Also, she is trained through the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship in Equine Assisted Psychotherapy and Learning to offer a highly successful experience for a wide variety of individuals. She works hand in hand with a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and the equine to create a healing triad.
Country Meadow Farm, LLC also offers boarding, training, clinics, equine retirement, and other specialized services for horses recovering from medical treatment or abusive trauma.

Hello everyone! Wanted to introduce the new and upcoming English and Western training facility in the heart of Spotslyvania Virgina. We are a work in progress but have BIG goals and need your help to get there! We have now put in our arena! Working on getting a few jumps as well to start with. As of now we are offering the following:

-30/60/90 day horse training program
-Trailer your horse in for lessons
-Working students ( I have a few horses I want to use for lessons but they need some more experienced riders to work them. Lessons are free on these horses!)
