We are one of a few facilities still offering hourly guided trail rides in the New River Valley. Breath taking trails take you from mountain-top pasture down to the New River. Our riding lessons for English or Western disciplines are given by experienced horsewomen, with no yelling or stressful interaction. Our goal is to create better horsemen/women as well as competent, confident riders.

Self care pasture board starts at $150/month. Boarders enjoy our full size indoor arena for bad weather riding, a convenient outdoor arena, a new round pen planned for spring 2013 and over 500 acres of scenic trails over mountaintop pasture, through dense woodlands, leading right down to the New River.

Our friendly and relaxed atmosphere and wonderful clientele will welcome you and your horse. New boarders quickly feel at home and part of “the family”. Horseshoe Creek Stables offers public trailrides in Roanoke, Virginia located in a great country setting but close in to Roanoke City and Vinton. 1-Hr Trailrides are $30.00 each and prescheduled on weekends. I can start young horses, rehab, put training on greenies or low level horses and re train difficult or even "impossible" horses. I also teach.

I am a behavioral specialist, using liberty training (advanced groundwork) and classical Dressage technique/theory with an emphasis on biomechanics and "riding with humility" to achieve unity with your horse- making you and him/her reach for your potential and begin a journey of self transformation.

Horses will help you find yourself if you give respect, ask for respect, listen to them, and surrender your fear.

My training is Dressage based but I believe all horses need a versatile foundation and incorporate XC schooling, cavaletti, trail riding, and fun but challenging activities when appropriate to build confidence in the horse and rider. I teach riders of all ages and experience levels on their own horses in the comfort of their own facility. I can also travel to shows or schooling events. German Bereiter Gabriele Hooten, USDF L and Silver medalist provides quality dressage training, instruction, boarding, clinics, and sales.Our goal is to train each horse to be obedient, light on the aids, fun to ride, and reach it's fullest potential -- whether competing successfully at horseshows, going confidently on relaxing trail rides or safely taking care of an ambitious teenager. Gabriele is a Bereiter FN, a German licensed professional dressage trainer and instructor with over 30 years of experience. She has studied under some of the best German professional dressage trainers for many years, most notably Reitmaster Guenther Festerling, one of only five German Masters to have achieved the highest level of professional training.
