We are a beginner to advanced hunter/jumper and dressage barn. We focus on safe horsemanship. It is our goal to tailor every riders experience to meet their goals.

I have over ten years experience riding, including a period of employment as a trail guide. Lessons would be at your home/or boarding facility on your own horse. I do have a lesson horse available if needed. I showed western pleasure in 4-h, have some experience in cutting, reining and mounted shooting. Lessons are $25/hour with discounts for purchasing packages.

Training:I do not finish horses but I can help solve some problems you may be having. In addition I really enjoy working with weanlings and yearlings groundwork etc. I will come to you if you have a round pen or you can board your horse(s) where I keep my own. I charge $1=100 /week plus mileage. Off site or $50/week + board if you choose to do that.

Includes a ride/working with your horse 5 days a week for 1-2 hours
I will also offer specialized services such as stall cleaning, barn upkeep, feeding, horse/house/pet sitting ($15/hour) and excercise riding ($20/hour)

My program focuses on developing a working bond between horse and handler. In doing so confidence is fostered not only in the rider but the horse as well. This creates a solid foundation based on positive reinforcement and facilitates easy learning advancement in addition to preventing negative habits from forming.
I have been involved with horses my whole life. At age nine I began breaking and training ponies. I have shown with AQHA and NSBA for the last sixteen years and have had the opportunity to apprentice with many great horsemen of the industry. My personal achievements include 2008 NSBA Res. Limited Rider of the year, 2008 Reichert Intermediate Slot class winner, 2010 Reichert champion, multiple top five and top ten placings at the All American Quarter Horse Congress. I've taught 6 y/o to 60+ y/o with varying levels of experience, and I've worked with OTTBs, foals to yearlings, and ponies. We provide lessons for the beginner through advanced rider, focusing on the importance of a correct seat for successful communication with your horse. Whether you prefer Western or English disciplines, we will help you communicate clearly with the horse for balanced and collected movement. Some people call this 'centered riding' and some call it 'biomechanics,' we call it solid horsemanship. We provide lessons on our horses or you can load in.

For those starting out in horse riding, we will provide you instruction on horse care, grooming, haltering and leading a horse. We will show you how to tack up, and we will discuss the horse's structure and the biomechanics of riding. We want you to learn the cues for riding, when to apply them and why they work. Under saddle you will learn how to balance upon your horse and communicate with your horse through your hands, seat and legs. We will provide you training in walk, trot and canter in an arena setting and then move outside of the arena for more challenge.

For the intermediate student who currently rides and wants to expand their ability, we will further develop your seat with balance and agility exercises. You can learn flying lead changes, dressage patterns or how to jump - anything is possible once you have confidence in your seat. Lunar Winds Stables' lesson program is based on training ideals that strengthen bonds and communicate with horses through their mind, voice, emotions, and body language. Through riding, they learn how their seat affects the horse, and learn how to recognize different types of horse behavior and what could be done to make problem behaviors better.
