I have always loved horses with a passion and have been riding, training and showing horses for over 30 years and I continue to this day to be in awe of their majesty, beauty, grace and forgiveness of the human race.

I truly believe that you have to look at the horse – human relationship as a whole picture to find out what is and is not working and once behavior patterns in the horse – human relationship - whether physical or emotional are identified I can then establish a plan to change these behaviors and develop a positive, healthy and fulfilling relationship for both horse and human.

My goal is to not only teach the horse, but to teach the horses’ owner to teach their own horse, developing a relationship of trust and mutual respect which will build partners for life.

We offer high quality, professional, and safe horseback riding lessons, available for both adult amateurs and children of all skill levels. Our instructor's have been teaching for 15 years. From learning the basics of Western and English riding, to just wanting a better partnership with your horse for recreational riding, to Jumping at the show level. We are a full service training facility located in beautiful Butte Valley, CA. We offer in-house lessons on your horse or ours, with the option of working in our covered arena, round pen, obstacle course or out on the trail. We also are willing to travel to appointments up to an hour away. Additionally, we do accept a limited number of horses for training - specializing with colt starting, troubled horses/behavioral issues, tune-ups or discipline specific training in select disciplines. Cornerstone offers a private 'A' circuit hunter/jumper training program to riders wishing to reach their goals in the equitation, jumper, and pony rings. In addition to our private training programs, we also offer leases, a unique sales program, beginner riding lessons, and clinics.

Our riders compete everywhere from local 'A's to International competitions.

Our program has turned out the National Children's Medal Winner at WIHS, a USEF Talent Search East Finalist, a Jr/YR Silver Medalist, 3 Prix de'States competitors, and 5 Grand Prix riders under the age of 18.

Head Trainer and Owner, Crystal, is ARIA certified in Huntseat and Stable Management - one of only five in the state of California. She has advanced First Aid/CPR training and was trained by CalFire in Large Animal Rescue. She has a Bachelor of Science in Equine Studies from Virginia Intermont College, and a Bachelor of Arts in Sports Psychology from SFSU. While attending Intermont, she competed on the IHSA team and won National Finals both years. The IDA and ANRC teams saw great success, and she competed on the exclusive AIEC team. AIEC is the World University Equestrian Federation, bringing World Cup level show jumping and dressage competition to international student riders.
