Bombproof Horsemanship offers clinics and private lessons that focus on developing a brave, confident horse and rider partnership. During our clinics, we start off slow and introduce many scary objects and sudden noises that will build your horse’s confidence before moving onto the challenging obstacle course. During the course of the day, you will learn the methods and techniques used to create finished police horses who are trustworthy partners that willingly move through heavy traffic, push into large crowds, walk through smoke, fire and remain calm while doing so. Chad is an accomplished horseman with years of riding and training experience. He was very fortunate to have always had horses in his life growing up. Dedicated to serving the community as a Police Officer since 1995, Chad’s passion for horses has led him to his Department’s Mounted Unit. Chad currently serves as a full time Mounted Police Officer with his partner, “Justice” who is a 5 year old, 16.2 hands, Percheron Thoroughbred gelding. Together they patrol busy urban areas, parks, and special events constantly encountering and overcomes difficult obstacles and situations. In 1998, Chad obtained his Basic Instructor License and in May of 2002, his Master Peace Officer License from the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education. In February 2010, Chad attended the extensive Dallas Police Mounted School in Dallas, Texas. In February 2011, attended the exclusive Mounted Police Seminar in Ottawa, Ontario Canada instructed by the Senior Equitation Instructors of the world famous Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

Currently the Trainer for his department’s Unit, he is in charge of selecting and training young horses and providing continuing equitation
training for current members. New members sometimes include persons that have never ridden before, enhancing Chad’s experience. We offer riding lessons on quality horses. We also offer training services

GoldStar Stables is an innovative riding program for students from ages 2 and up. Private lessons start at 45.00 for a half hour lesson. I also offer one hour lessons, semi-private and group lessons. Ask about my five and ten lesson packages. Focus is on jumping and dressage, with both mounted and unmounted lessons. Western riding lessons also available with an emphasis on Western Pleasure. I focus on horsemanship both in the saddle and on the ground. I will not make my student do things they are uncomfortable with. I believe both horse and rider should be ready to move forward.
