Leslie Deering has been training and teaching for over 30 years. She herself trained with an Olympic gold medalist. Leslie specializes in teaching classical principles while building security and confidence, especially while jumping. Leslie's students have become A pony clubbers and Advanced level three day event riders. In addition to events, the stable attends hunter/jumper and dressage shows. Training horses and riders for foxhunting is another of Leslie's strengths. She's hunted in MD, VA and Ky for over 20 years. Since having her own children she has also found a real joy in developing young riders and ponies and introducing beginners to the pleasure of safe riding across country. Quality horses are often available for lease.

Skyline Training Stables is a small lesson, training and boarding facility located about 1 mile off of Rt. 30 North, in quiet Hampstead, Maryland. We have our own lesson horses, or you can trailer your horse in. Lessons: Private 1 Hour: $50.00 (Our horse) Private 1 Hour: $50.00 (Trailer in) Private 1 Hour: $45.00 (Student Boarder) Semi-Private and Group Lesson rates available on request. Negative Coggins required for all ship-ins. Amenities: We have both an indoor ring that is approximately 65 x 160, and an outdoor sand ring that is approximately 110 x 225. A finished tack room is available, wash stall with h/c water, and 10 x 10 matted stalls. 4 spacious grass fields with small herd turn out. The stalls are picked and cleaned daily and high quality hay and feed is fed, with each horse's diet custom designed with care. Water buckets are dumped and cleaned daily. Board includes feed, hay, stall cleaning, turn in/out, fly masks and blankets/sheets put on/changed as needed, determined by weather, not convenience. Scheduled vet, farrier, and dental appointments are also included in the board. Payment for vet, farrier, dental, hauling and *horse shows is due at time of service. "The mission of LeCheval Stable is to educate the community about therapeutic horseback riding, provide counseling and equine-facilitated support services for the purposes of recreation, exercise, sport and rehabilitative therapy in an inclusive setting.”
LeCheval Stable, a 501 (c) (3) non profit organization, provides an opportunity for individuals and families to explore the equestrian experience. Riders ages 5 to adult learn basic standards necessary for safe riding. Lessons are geared to the strengths and needs of the rider after an initial evaluation. Horsemanship, skill progression and equitation are taught using the guidelines of the Certified Horsemanship Association (CHA) and Maryland 4H Horsemanship Program. Beginning and intermediate riders work towards independence to build equestrian knowledge to support the ongoing process of skill progression. Riders learn to use the natural aids of voice, seat, hands and legs to influence and communicate with their horse.

Therapeutic riding instruction is provided by certified instructors through Professional Association Therapeutic Horsemanship (PATH) International. Hippotherapy and consultation with occupational, physical or speech language therapists is available. Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) scheduled by appointment.

Aisling Stables provides horseback riding lessons to students year round. Students vary of all ages, disciplines, and levels. Well-trained school horses are provided for lessons. Private lessons offer one on one instruction and are 45 minutes in length. Semi-privates consist of 2-3 riders per lesson and are 1 hr. Lead-line lessons are also available and include parent involvement with 15 minutes of horsemanship and 30 minutes of ride time. Package deals (four lessons) are available for students who wish to ride on a consistent basis. Lessons are discounted 10% and to be scheduled on the same day and time for each week, with packages to be used within five weeks time of purchase.
