Simplicity Stables is a first class equestrian facility that has something for just about anybody interested in learning or continuing their hunter/jumper riding or western riding, whether just for pleasure or competition. We are not solely an AQHA barn. The staff has competed, trained and shown many years in the open USEF circuit hunters and jumpers. We offer boarding, training, sales and riding lessons for all ages. Our prices are competitive with all the area's other facilities, but we are confident our programs will give you or your child not only fun with riding horses but the education to do so correctly.
Our complete horse show schedule follows through all year with both the local level shows including GOHJA and Horseshows in the Park to the A circuit including HITS. We also attend the AQHA circuit shows with our horses in the Hunter, Lounge line, Equitation, Western Pleasure, Western Riding, Showmanship and Horsemanship divisions. Here at Simplicity Stables, we are very proud of our family-friendly atmosphere with a competitive edge. We promote safety first as well as instruct our riders in the traditional hunt seat riding. Effectiveness is key to the competitive rider and we follow a program that will teach the rider to not only look good but to ride well too. Megan Smith is currently working on her USDF (United States Dressage Federation) T-2 Instructor Certification and has competed successfully though 4th Level Dressage. From 2002 to 2006 Megan was an assistant manager and trainer for FEI "O" Judge, and current Olympic Team Dressage Coach, Anne Gribbons. DHEC's lesson program is world class. Our philosophy is to provide quality instruction by an experienced trainer with a focus on safety, horsemanship and fun. We offer lessons 6 days a week for both boarders and non-boarders alike. The first lesson will include an evaluation of the rider's level of experience and skill. After this lesson, we will place you into a private lesson or group lesson where you will ride with other students at a similar skill level.

We offer dressage and show jumping lessons plus have a 5-acre cross-country schooling field for eventing. We go to both h/j and eventing shows on a regular basis. Some of the local shows we attend are MSC, POP, Grand Oaks, Majestic Oaks, 3 Lakes, Sweet Dixie South, Barnstaple and Rocking Horse . We also attend rated dressage shows and eventing horse trials throughout Florida and the Southeast.

Specializing in those difficult OTTB's or the well-bred WB's, (we don't breed discriminate here, so bring it on!) From fresh off-the-track to bringing back from rehab or years spent in the pasture, our quality training at DHEC will show you the horse you were meant to ride! All horses and their owners become family at Dream Horse Equestrian Center, and we look forward to meeting you and your 4-legged partner, and strive to help you reach your goals!

For the beginner, DHEC teaches how to tack up and basic horse care and grooming. We believe that taking care of your horse is an important part of the lesson program. Caring for your horse before and after each lesson makes each rider feel more comfortable around horses, teaches responsibility and allows the rider to feel closer to their mount. We start at the very beginning teaching balance as a number one priority.

For the more advanced riders, we offer an extensive lesson program focusing on safety and horsemanship so you can move up to that next level. The program features many school horses, group instruction, and frequent participation in local shows. DHEC provides additional services for the equestrian community, including offering horses both for sale and for lease.

Because the safety of our riders is extremely important, ALL riders must wear a helmet. We provide helmets for riders who do not have their own. Please wear long pants or breeches (jeans are ok). Paddock boots are ideal or a hard-soled boot with a small heel is acceptable (no tennis shoes).
