My name is Wyatt McCoy I am 15 years old and live in Cove City NC. My family has had our farm ever since the 1800s we have raised cattle since the 1940s and we have always loved horses. I started riding horses about 6 years ago and I have always loved and wanted to care for horses and teach the next generation of horsemen and women. I currently have 4 horses of my own and am teaching lessons I have trained horses, I have worked with problem horses. I love working with problem horses because I love giving them a chance that someone else might not give them I have always loved to work with rescue horses and one of my horses is a rescue horse that me and my kids are working with to become a lesson horse for them to ride. I have done both Western and English. I have worked with all sorts of horses, the slowest that come and very green horses. I am also willing to board your horse as well. We have a beautiful 5 stall horse barn with a hay loft and tack room. We also have 150 acres of land. Thank you for reading this and I hope you can consider us as an option for your horse.

We offer Western Pleasure riding lessons to students ages 5 through adults in a safe and relaxed atmosphere. We want our students to discover the joy of riding and learn the care and responsiblity involved in owning a horse. We also offer summer day camps for children ages 5 and up that focus on basic horsemanship and horse care. In addition, we offer guided trail riding on our horses for teenagers, adults, and experienced young riders ages 8 and up. The trail riding includes a free orientation in the ring. Our academy is based on a structured program that has proven and applied itself for the past 30+ years. We called it EQUES rider. This program is based on level. The student start at Rider 1, and will work to achieve their Rider 4 certification. Each student will learn and practice the skills necessary to graduate to the next level.
Our mission is to teach our riders to become better horsemen and horsewomen. Horse care, proper body position, safety around horses and body control are some examples of what our program teaches. Misfit Equestrian/Eventing offers lessons, leasing and boarding to hunter/jumper, dressage and Eventing riders aswell as beginner students wishing to learn English riding.
We are a competitive program that does not require showing but attends 2-4 shows a month.
Beginner private lessons are an hour, in this time riders learn the basics of horsemanship (catching the horse, leading, grooming, tacking, light riding, untacking and returning the horse to the field)
Private lessons are 45 min, riders attending these lessons must be able to catch, groom, tack and mount on their own.
Group lessons start for riders who can walk trot independently and then are divided by jump height.

Bridget O’Neill began riding almost as soon as she could walk. As she grew older, she spent long days at the barn learning the art of horsemanship through trail riding, western pleasure shows, and riding huntseat for versatility competitions. In her early teens she moved on to hunter jumper, successfully competing at the C, A, and AA circuits. She currently trains and competes in eventing, dressage, and jumpers.

Bridget enjoys working with riders of all ages and abilities. Safety and a solid foundation are the important components of her lesson program. She believes wholeheartedly in the value and establishing strong basic skills in her students. As riders progress under her guidance, they gain insight into the complex relationship between horse and rider. Bridget develops riders who are well-rounded in total horsemanship and who know how to thoroughly care for their horses and equipment in addition to riding competently no matter what discipline they select.
