My program focuses on developing a working bond between horse and handler. In doing so confidence is fostered not only in the rider but the horse as well. This creates a solid foundation based on positive reinforcement and facilitates easy learning advancement in addition to preventing negative habits from forming.
I have been involved with horses my whole life. At age nine I began breaking and training ponies. I have shown with AQHA and NSBA for the last sixteen years and have had the opportunity to apprentice with many great horsemen of the industry. My personal achievements include 2008 NSBA Res. Limited Rider of the year, 2008 Reichert Intermediate Slot class winner, 2010 Reichert champion, multiple top five and top ten placings at the All American Quarter Horse Congress. Our aspiration at Cross Trails Stables is to provide an inexpensive facility where horse lovers of all ages can have serious, and play, time with horses. We offer full care in our 13,060 sq ft facility. L'Ambaince Farm is an exceptional and beautiful lesson, training and full care boarding facility. We are a family friendly equine facility where everyone is always welcome! We specialize in saddle seat riding to riders of all ages and abilities. (Not sure if your up to riding? We also give driving lessons too!) We cater to riders who just want to have fun all the way to those who aspire to become a champion! Lessons are $35 for a half an hour riding lesson. Lessons are not required to groom and tack up but are encouraged to come 15-20 minutes early to learn how to do so. All the current students love to groom and tack up! We offer group and private lessons. Students and horses are matched up for a safe, fun, and educational lesson. We have an huge enclosed indoor and enclosed outdoor area for year round riding. We also have a small enclosed arena at one end of the barn where the beginner lessons are always started. Beginner lessons are private until the rider feels comfortable and has mastered good control. There is a air-conditioned and heated lounge where everyone can hang out! There is also a viewing room to watch lessons in. We also have "Fun days" where all the students are welcome to come and bring a friend and we learn more about horses. (like breeds, colors, parts of the horse, tack, and general horse care) Heather, the instructor, has been riding and showing American Saddlebreds for over 16 years and has been teaching for the past 10 years. She love's kids (and the kids at heart!) and horses which makes it an enjoyable lesson for kids and adults alike. I can halter break foals, start horses under saddle, or finish a horse in any of the following disciplines; western, english, jumping, showmanship, contesting and trail. I charge $35 per hour and like the owner of the horse to learn my training techniques so they know what to do with the horse when they are working with them. I also do monthly training that requires the horse be boarded on out farm. $250 for full care board and $250 for training. I work with the horse at least 4 times a week. My main goal when training is to have a calm, respectful and willing horse on the ground and in the saddle. I believe the proper ground work is the key to most problems. I give lessons to beginners up to experienced riders. I also will give lessons to all ages; no on is too young or too old in my eyes. I prefer private lessons only but will give a group lesson up to two riders at a time. I charge $35 per private lesson and $25 per rider for a group lesson. Lessons usually last 1 1/2 hours because I guarantee an hour on the horses back.

I have 19 years of experience training horses/riders. I have had over 6 different personal trainers and I study John Lyons,Pat Parelli,Guy McLean, Chris Cox, Clinton Anderson, Craig Cameron and many others on a consistent basis. I believe you can never know everything and the same techniques do not work on every horse. I have shown in all of the above disciplines and have done very well.
