Doug Henry is the owner of Doug Henry Horse Shoeing. Although he resides in Volusia County, he travels for his farrier business throughout Florida. Doug is a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Doug’s business, life, and family can be summarized by the following verse, “The righteous care for the needs of their animals” (Proverbs 12:10). Doug is an accredited professional farrier who has been in business since 2011. He is a member of the American Association of Professional Farriers. Doug has extensive experience in the horse industry both personally and professionally. Doug knows firsthand the critical role of the farrier in horses’ performance as he and his family have owned their own performance horses that were instrumental in their daily lives as cattlemen and rodeo contestants. I attended trimming school at Equinextion in Canada in 2012, followed by apprenticeship (2 years). I held a client base in upstate NY for 8 years, followed by the last 2 years here in Florida.

I am not a traditional farrier in that do not apply shoes, however I studied & specialize in a balanced barefoot trim that allows the horse to function at its best.
I am on-time for appointments, and patient with the horses. I love them and I love to trim feet!
