Dressage Training in Illinois

We are a full service equine facility offering boarding, training, showing and lessons.
FOM is in White Heath IL! We have taken over Sangamon River Stables. We offer full care board, Dressage, Event and Jumper training and lessons will be offered by Gold, Silver and Bronze Medalist Rachel Hill. Also Gilly McPhee will be offering Jumper, H/J, EQ, and English lessons and training. BEGINNERS welcome!

Our facility boasts a full size indoor dressage arena, mirrors, heated viewing room, mag flakes, and huge doors for lovely ventilation! There is a Olympic sized outdoor dressage arena, manicured to perfection. We have a huge jump field, roundpen, manicured trails that wind around Sangamon River, 3 heated tack rooms, 24 stalls, private or group turn out ON GRASS or a limestone paddock, 2 wash stalls (inside and out), open airy 12x16 and 12x12 stalls, individual tack cubby, NO DRAMA. We are children friendly and semi dog friendly (dogs need to go through an interview process). We feed hay 3-4 times daily, grain 2-3 times daily, stalls cleaned 1-2 times daily, hold for vet, farrier, and administration of meds. Supplements and blankets given at owners request, we fly spray when needed and we will fetch your horse in if they’re running or seem under the weather.

This is the new home of El Mistico, FEI Andalusian breeding stallion and Debonair I-2 schoolmaster on his way to Grand Prix. We will be offering clinics, camps, and a few fun shows in 2019.

Bonnie has over 20 years experience and has dedicated her life to understanding horses and preparing them for careers in their chosen discipline. She utilizes her horsemanship skills to educate and facilitate both the horse and riders communication skills. This has a positive impact on their performance, and it ultimately deepens their relationship. Bonnie has extensive experience across numerous disciplines including; English, Western, Hunter/Jumper, Dressage, Eventing and Gaited disciplines. Bonnie specializes  in dressage and has trained thru grand prix on school masters and has personally trained horses from green broke thru Intermediare level. She has worked with leading trainers in the sport along with wonderful horses which has provided Bonnie with the knowledge and tools necessary to become the experienced professional she is today. Ride under the guidance of FEI Grand Prix and USDF Bronze, Silver, and Gold medalist, Danielle Vitosh. Danielle has 24 years of riding experience with three of those being spent traveling the US working under other trainers and gaining valuable riding experience on a variety of horses. She also spent a period of time in Germany working for the Hannovaner Verband auction, riding their auction horses and lessoning under expert coaches. Danielle has worked with multiple different breeds in addition to warmbloods in her career and follows the Team Tate Academy motto that dressage should improve the horse’s way of going. Specializing in starting young horses, Danielle's program focuses on a clear, strategic beginning that sets the horse up to be an independent, confident partner. Danielle still currently consistently lessons with FEI international competitor, Jessica Jo Tate. Staying current in her own riding and education is extremely important to her as gaining new tools allows her to be able to directly address any roadblocks a pair might encounter. Her education has also been influenced by Charles de Kunffy, Scott Hassler, Hans Heinrich, Debbie McDonald, Allison Springer, Clark Montgomery, Ian Stark, and she also had the privilege to sit in on private lessons with Allison Brock.

Cricket's Run Dressage is a professional training program geared towards competitive dressage, with an emphasis on the mental and physical health of the horse, and body awareness of the rider. With these tools, the horse/rider combination will have a bright, competitive future ahead of them. We at Cricket's Run Dressage believe that the horse's happiness comes first, and that they have to associate work with a positive feeling, never looking at it negatively. Marissa LeFevre is a USDF silver medalist and FEI trainer/coach. She currently shows her own horse, Bondir, at Intermediate 1. She believes it is important to be current with your education and to compete regularly to keep up with your education.
