At The Equestrian Reserve, we are certain you will discover there is no other equestrian program that offers such dynamic instructional programs meeting the needs of all riders including children ages 4 -18 and adults.

Whether a beginner or an advanced rider, we have developed numerous age appropriate introductory programs, a strong lesson program providing an ongoing skill based four level lesson continuum certificate program, and advanced equestrian opportunities.

Our school has well trained schooling and performance show horses to enable us to offer all around instruction utilizing AQHA standards. We train you in the disciplines: English Hunt Seat including equitation, hunter under saddle and jumping and/or Western Pleasure including horsemanship, showmanship, trail and western riding. Although there is no pressure to enter the world of showing, the opportunity is there as we have created a forty member competition team serving as a springboard for equestrians to compete on the national circuit.

We have daily lesson programs and teach students after school from Monday thru Fridays and Saturday mornings. We teach classical horsemanship and basic riding skills in walk, trot, canter and jumping.We offer private, semi-private and group lessons. Devon Olivier is a recent graduate of the University of Georgia. She rode on the eventing team while attending college. She was on the 2016 USEA collegiate national championship team. She won the Open Prelim division at FENCE horse trials on 4-17-17 on her horse Karisma. She won the Open Prelim division at Paradise Farms on 2-17-17. Devon has won the individual Gold in the intercollegiate challenge at Chattahoochee Hills horse trials twice while on the UGA eventing team. Devon has trained numerous Off the Track Thoroughbreds and has gone to multiple national competitions with her horses. Devon has been a working student for Michael and Sharon Poulin (Bronze Medal at the Barcelona Olympics in dressage). While there she worked on getting correct and effective dressage training under her belt. She then worked for Mollie Zobel in South Carolina who was an upper level event trainer. Devon has worked with or taken lessons with Doug Payne, Elly Schobel, Michael Poulin, Sharon Poulin, Gwen Poulin. She has taken clinics with Werner Geven, Dom Schramm, Kyle Carter, Leslie Law, Jon Holling just to name a few. Devon offers lessons in dressage, jumpers and eventing. Devon has training privileges at Ashland Farms in Walnut Grove which offers a cross country course from starter thru Prelim. They also have two dressage arenas and a jumping arena. Our horseback riding program offers your child a safe and exciting entry into the wonderful world of horses! We are location in the Old Thompson Mill Rd. - Hamilton Mill area on a family oriented private farm in Buford. We have two lighted arenas, one with an attached round pen. Safety will be a priority and incorporated into all the lessons. We provide helmets and use break away stirrups. Ages start at 7 years and lessons include: Riding Skills, Beginning to Intermediate, Horse care and Games. Some of our students enjoy the competition teams where we go to local shows near by. Over 35 years' experience in the equestrian industry, 14 years as a professional. I believe that riding should be fun and safe. I was taught by many wonderful trainers like; Berry Lane, Linda Allen, Daniel Geitner, and more. My focus is to ensure the rider has a strong and balanced leg, seat, and upper body. I believe it's how you ride between the jumps that matter.
I emphasize the importance of understanding the reasoning behind techniques, rather than just instructing what to do. By explaining the "why" and the expected outcomes, I help riders piece together their skills more effectively. I ensure that neither my riders nor their horses are rushed or pushed beyond their limits. Advancement occurs when they are mentally and physically prepared, fostering a supportive and progressive learning environment.

I only offer private or semi private lessons. However, in the beginning I want a rider in a private setting so I can understand them and the rider can learn how I teach. Beginner riders are only private lessons, for their safety.

Full board in our custom 16 stall show barn includes feeding, stalls picked 2x per day and daily turnouts on lush private 18 acres of multiple cross fenced turnout paddocks.
