We are located in Frederick MD. This is a one of a kind program our instructor's build a foundation of Confidence with our students in ground work first, than riding and then the basics of trick training. the founder of our program has taught all of the horses and has shown them all over the country. Our horses are of average height to pony's to mintures.
Our founding was taught and mentored by the best movie trainers in the industry.And he hopes to pass on this art.This is a very well rounded Program with art, music etc..this instruction is for all levels of riders from beginers to the advanced.. Beginner friendly horseback riding lessons in both English and Western disciplines on steady, experienced horses.

Blue Mountain Farm is a quiet, privately owned facility in Frederick, Maryland, less than five minutes away from Route 340. By joining our lesson program, you will learn all aspects of horseback riding from how to safely catch and lead a horse, to proper grooming techniques, to tacking up, riding, and the things you should do after your ride.

Our horses are calm and quiet mounts, great for the beginner rider and timid riders, but they are also very well-trained and can challenge more experienced riders as well.

Update for 2023: Heart of Riding is going strong, thanks to my fabulous students and horses!

My schedule at my Frederick location, Topline Equestrian Center, is so full I can't accept any new students who don't already have their own horse.

I may be able to fit in new students who have their own horse at a barn between Frederick and Annapolis, depending on schedule.

Trailer-ins are also welcome at both my Frederick and Highland locations.

My Highland location is also too full to accept new students who need a school horse...
HOWEVER: I may be able to make an exception for just the right person -
*FREE rent in exchange for part time work caretaking 4 geldings on site, approx. 10 to 12hrs per week
*5 days per week morning and evening chores
*morning chores include feeding and cleaning, 1hr/day on good weather days, 1.5hrs on inclement weather days
*evening chores include feeding and cleaning, 1hr/day most days, less if you're efficient
*chores may be done before you go to work a regular job and after you return at the end of the day
*the house has a nice view of the barn, and the 7 acre property is well away from any major roads so it is very quiet and peaceful
*wild turkeys and other wildlife do frequent the property
*private walk-in basement apartment with separate bath and very small kitchenette area
*no stairs to get into the basement, but you would need to walk through the grass around the front of the house from the parking area
*use of the pool and deck is included
*utilities may be negotiable if you wanted to work more than 5 days per week
*riding lessons / R+ horse training lessons may be negotiable if you wanted to do facility maintenance in addition to horse care
*no smoking on property
*references required
*some horse experience required
*applicant must be a responsible adult with great communication skills and a valid drivers license
*bonus consideration given to applicants who are handy with fixing things around the house and barn AND to anyone who is looking for a long term living situation
*location is 10min from grocery, gas stations, feed shop, banks, fast food, drugstore, etc yet is nestled within the Patuxent River State Park, a short walk from the Patuxent itself
*pets considered on a case by case basis - they would need to get along with people as well as the dog and cat living on the main floor, and be safe around horses

Here at Free Spirit Stables Horse & Pony Sponsorship enables an adult, child or numerous children to sponsor a horse or pony. Each person will be paired with his/her horse or pony and our farm will dedicate time and effort to teaching how to ride and care for the horse or pony properly.

Monthly Sponsorships includes a weekly Two-Hour session where our farm teaches FULL HORSE CARE which includes grooming, tacking, riding and feeding the horse or pony. We accept students from age three (3) through adult into the Program.

We have two horse shows at our farm each year, we also participate in other schooling shows. If your family or child dreams of having a horse or pony but in our back yard this is the place.

Feelgood Farm is now accepting new clients of all levels and goals. We are a show facility specializing in hunter/jumper training. We offer riding lessons to students ages 4 and up for our lesson program. We offer support, supervision, career management and a fun learning environment. Whether at our farm or at competitions locally or on the circuit, we aim to provide personalized attention to your goals and dreams.
  We strive to pass our experiences and other valuable information on to our students in a way that is both fun and challenging, while emphasizing safety and kindness to the horses.
Here you can learn the ins and outs of horses both on the ground and in the saddle!
We do not require formal riding attire but ask that the student wears long pants and closed-toe shoes with a short heel. We have riding helmets to lend to you initially to minimize your expenses while you are giving this exciting sport a try.

Qualified Instructor that will travel to you or you can ride at my facility using the school horses provided in the Poolesville/Montgomery County MD area. I specialize in finding your perfect seat for a comfortable and correct ride. My background is in hunt seat equitation on the flat and over fences, as well as training level dressage.
