Golden Ridge Stables has taught Minnesota to ride since 1986. Our established lesson program offers quality hunt seat and western lessons for youth and ladies of all ages and abilities on well mannered school horses. Our students discover how to work with each horse on the ground as well as on its back. Riding is a life skill that teaches self discipline, communication, and teamwork. Our goal is to develop confident life long horsemen.

Summer camp gives horse lovers lots of time with their horse and a daily structured riding lesson. With a limited number of participants, each rider gets individualized attention and a good basic riding foundation. Our fun activities include games, Paint-A-Pony, and creative crafts. Each rider goes home with a treasured keepsake and lasting memories!

Looking for a horse to love? Our unique leasing program is available to current clients and gives students a chance to spend more time in the saddle. Riders get excellent instruction in addition to time to practice their skills. Hanging out at the barn is great!

Owning a horse should be fun! We match horse and rider to create a bond that lasts forever. We offer customized boarding at an affordable price for horses of all breeds. Many of our horse live well into old age because we take great pride in our care. We work together with a knowledgeable team of veterinarians and farriers to insure each horse’s distinctive needs are addressed.

Riders who want to try horse shows are welcome to compete on our school horses and attend small shows throughout the season. More experienced riders attend local and away shows suitable for their level of expertise. Riders with big dreams and awesome horse power, attend regional, national, and international competitions. Several of our riders started on our wonderful school horses and have gone on to excel at the highest level in hunter pleasure, hunt seat equitation, and showmanship. My program is unlike any other program in the twin cities area. I have been perfecting and developing it for a many years now. This program is more than showing up, jumping on a horse and riding around in circles for 45 min.First of all, it's about having FUN!! It's also about learning everything you need to know to be a confident, self sufficient rider. We start by learning how our horse communicates with us and how to truly understand it's cues. We bulid a strong, balanced seat by perfecting our bareback riding skills. We move on to different types of saddles and challenge ourselves each and everytime we come to the barn. I take pride in working with horses with behavioral issues as a trainer. Most of my more advanced students help me in this process and learn about the mind set of these horses with agression issues. Buckers, biters, kickers, halter pullers, horses who try to roll on you, or anything else they can do to scare the mess out of you to get them to put you away. It's incrediably rewarding to see these horses calm down and remember what is like to be a happy horse again. Kids in my program learn about leadership skills, communication, problem solving, teamwork, basic life skills that will help them when they are older. They help me teach camps, community ed, they help new students, young or old learn new things about horses. It's really rewarding to watch how well these kids develop so quickly and some just explode out of their shells.***

Currently, I am offering lessons for those just getting into horses or those with experience. I strive to give new riders confidence and a strong foundation for them to build on however they chose. I teach beginner western lessons with an emphasis on a basic balanced position. I also teach english riders of all levels, including more specifically dressage and jumping.
