Kandice's 38+ years experience and dedication led to opportunities to include coaching a medalist in the Olympic games and also has directed many camps including a Girl Scout camp of 175 students.

Our mission is to follow a path of exploring and sharing how horses and nature teach us to be better people. Through learning leadership and co-operation, utilizing the senses, the natural world combined with horses help us grow and be inspired to higher levels of inner self-development.

We teach the Classical Foundation Balanced Seat that applies to most discipline's.
Instruction is gleamed from the great Horse Masters, British Horse Society (Pony Club) and the International System of R

Our goal is to provide you with the full horse experience from horse behavior, safety. body language, tacking, grooming, ground work and riding. We incorporate nature and experiential life skills for the youth.

Since 1972, MacNair's Country Acres has been boarding horses and teaching horseback riding. Our Hunter/Jumper/Dressage facility is located on 280 acres, minutes from downtown Raleigh, NC.

We offer boarding, training, lessons and showing, both on and off the farm and we compete at local through USEF AA shows.

For those without a horse, our Riding School lesson horses and ponies have a variety of specialties. Our beginner animals are patient and dependable and our upper level horses help more advanced riders further their goals.

Offering private beginner riding lessons to children and adults in the English discipline.

Lessons focus on flatwork to develop and fine tune seat/ leg aids. Students have the option to learn jumping, ground driving and dressage once they have developed a strong foundation in horsemanship and aids.

I believe in giving students clear instructions, just as the horse would like from their rider. Students will begin on a lunge line to develop feeling and connection with the horse. Once the student shows they are able to control the horse with the use of their body versus their hands, they will graduate to riding off the lunge line. Clear cues are difficult to implement when you are expected to juggle body position, weight balancing, correct aids, direction and speed before knowing what you are doing. When solid foundations are built, riders will excel with advancements with ease!

Additionally, students may choose to spend partial or whole lessons to learn about horse care, anatomy and grooming/ show grooming.

Our academy is based on a structured program that has proven and applied itself for the past 30+ years. We called it EQUES rider. This program is based on level. The student start at Rider 1, and will work to achieve their Rider 4 certification. Each student will learn and practice the skills necessary to graduate to the next level.
