I love to work with horses and riders in any discipline, at any level. My background has been that of classical dressage work, however, I have also done fox hunting, hunter/jumpers, pole bending, barrel racing, pleasure shows, trail riding, and gaited horse work. I currently show a Morgan stallion named, Brady, who is the love of my life. Last year we went to nationals for the first time and came away with a reserve world championship and grand national championship title. I have also been to Germany where I was licensed to compete and train in dressage and jumping. The past 5 years of my riding has been as an apprentice to KC Parkins-Kyle where I have helped start young colt, work with problem horses, manage a farm, and give lessons.

Miranda offers over 13 years of experience in the hunter/jumper arena. She has been fortunate enough to train and work for some of the top Grand Prix and Olympic level riders and has gained an immense amount of knowledge about the sport and the animal over the years. She has worked her way up through the short stirrup hunter divisions to the competitive junior jumper divisions on the "A" level circuit and is ready to share her knowledge with others. CHILDREN -- Group classes and private horsemanship lessons are offered for children and youth from the ages of 5 through 18. Lessons are provided on our horses and ponies in Firestone, Colorado. We teach from a child development perspective with the goal of helping each rider develop a balanced seat. Lessons with younger children or beginners involve ground lessons and lunging to allow the rider to focus on developing control and balance. As the rider advances, lessons include training in an arena and on the trail. All riders work in English tack or bareback and all riders learn about the care of horses. Tack is provided but riders must provide their own SEI approved riding helmet. Appropriate riding clothes and boots are highly recommended.

ADULTS -- Private lessons offered for adults at most levels. We teach from a developmental perspective with the goal of helping each rider develop a balanced seat. We have a deep appreciation for the issues adults face in riding – old fears and anxieties, self-consciousness, physical limitations, etc. Lessons involve ground work and lunging to allow the rider to focus on developing control and balance. Lauren Gueswel, specializing in intermediate level riders for Working Equitation and Hunter/Jumper with a dressage foundation. Lauren and her students frequent Working Equitation shows in Colorado, Nebraska, and Las Vegas, as well as Hunter/Jumper CHJA and schooling shows throughout Colorado. We are a down-to-earth fun supportive group to show with.

Jesse Johnson specializes in beginner through advanced level riders in Hunter/Jumper, Eventing, and Western disciplines. Jesse and her students frequent Hunter/Jumper shows at the CHJA and schooling show levels. She establishes safety basics, solid seat, balance, and handling/horsemanship. Jesse takes the time to establish safe riding and handling habits in all her students to make them not only a rider, but a good horseman/horsewoman.

Kelly Cartright focuses on beginner to intermediate Hunters and Equitation. Red Fern Farm's trainer Kim Klein has 10 years of professional experience riding and teaching, and has trained with top riders including Bernie Traurig, Archie Cox, Joan McLaren, Mark Mead, John McConnell, and Andrea Throckmorton both in the U.S. and Europe. She has a broad background working with young horses, problem horses, and show horses, and specializes in training horses and riders to be relaxed, confident, and safe no matter what their job is.

Lessons are offered on-site on a variety of horses ranging from very safe horses that are easy for beginners to performance horses suitable for advanced riders in both English and Western disciplines. Kim is also available to travel to your facility in Northern Colorado for lessons on your own horse(s). Full or part-time training is also available for your own horse for either trailer-in or boarded horses. Regular rates are $50/1hour private lesson or $45/1hour group lesson.

Kim also offers a children's program suitable for kids of all ages; each lesson incorporates different games and challenges to promote learning and riding skills in a fun and exciting environment! All lessons include instruction on horse care (grooming, saddling, basic care) and riding time. Kim specializes in hunters and jumpers, but will teach basic riding in any discipline and provides equipment for both English and Western riders. Classic Farms specializes in Junter, Jumpers and Equitation from beginners to advanced riders. Trailer in or I can come to your facility (currently have students in Wellington, Ft Collins, Berthoud and Longmont). My small farm is in Greeley, I have access to an indoor arena nearby and also work out of a facility in Fort Collins. My emphasis is on safety and developing a partnership of respect and communication with your horse. My students range from beginners riding school horses, to an adult women's group to 3'9" competative Jumper and Medal students. We do lots of low level schooling shows as well as the CHJA and occasional A show.
