Marilyn Austin, giving riding instruction at Chastain Horse Park, in Atlanta, Ga offers lessons to children and adults, beginner to advanced riders are welcome. Certified by the British Horse Society, Marilyn has taught professionally for over 30 years in the Metro Atlanta area. Her foundation for instruction came from an elite riding school SW of London, but years of teaching has provided experience in many types of lesson environments, with multiple riding disciplines. Extensive work with Special Olympics over the years, and working with 4-H, Marilyn enjoys the process of helping riders develop skills, and focuses on education about horsemanship, safety, and teaching all riders to appreciate the horse or pony. Positive reinforcment, and a proven method of learning from the ground up has helped many students over the years become accomplished equestrians, many of whom now continue to ride as adults,and continue to be involved with the horse industry.
When Marilyn joined the team of instructors at Chastain Horse Park, she then acquired certification from NARHA, which enhanced her previous equine education, and qualified her to safely teach and supervise riding for children and adults with special needs.
Currently Marilyn offers riding lessons at Chastain Horse Park, a premier NARHA facility, that offers an excellent selection of lesson horses, a covered arena, a grand prix jumping arena and a lovely setting in the Buckhead community. We have daily lesson programs and teach students after school from Monday thru Fridays and Saturday mornings. We teach classical horsemanship and basic riding skills in walk, trot, canter and jumping.We offer private, semi-private and group lessons.
