Bay View Farms offers hunter/Jumper or western riding lessons for all levels.
Show experience is offered- we go to 1 or 2 shows a month. Beginning jumping is also offered. Students are welcome to bring their own horses, board if they are students, or use the lesson horses on the farm.

Located just outside of Chattanooga, Hixson Therapeutic Riding Program is a non-profit organization that was started in 2009. At HTRP, we offer a variety of services and strive to create a close-knit community that fosters a fun and safe learning environment. We are lcoated in a picturesque setting in Hixson, TN, near Chattanooga with 35 acres of riding land. Once your riding ability increases, we ride to the Chickamauga creek and see a variety of wildlife. You will learn how to negotiate streams, logs and hills.

We begin lessons at 5 years of age with a 45 minute lesson. Students 10 and older receive an hour and 15 minutes of instruction. Two instructors will ride will each lesson. We also offer lessons for special needs students. Lessons will be structured according to each person’s experience and goals. All lessons are by appointment.

We also do pony rides for children under 5 and Birthday Parties. Students not only learn how to ride, but how to take care of a horse. Some of the things that you will learn are:

Brandy McDonnell is our Chief Riding Instructor. Brandy has more than 30 years of riding experience. Brandy is a certified "Master Instructor" from the Certified Horsemanship Association, allowing her to certify riders from beginning levels to the highest level of either English or Western style riding. The C.H.A. is one of the top leading certifying organizations for equine instructors. Brandy holds a lifetime membership in the C.H.A. as well as a lifetime membership with the American Quarter Horse Association (A.Q.H.A.).
