Here at Free Spirit Stables Horse & Pony Sponsorship enables an adult, child or numerous children to sponsor a horse or pony. Each person will be paired with his/her horse or pony and our farm will dedicate time and effort to teaching how to ride and care for the horse or pony properly.

Monthly Sponsorships includes a weekly Two-Hour session where our farm teaches FULL HORSE CARE which includes grooming, tacking, riding and feeding the horse or pony. We accept students from age three (3) through adult into the Program.

We have two horse shows at our farm each year, we also participate in other schooling shows. If your family or child dreams of having a horse or pony but in our back yard this is the place.

We are a 501(c)(3)so you will be giving back to these wonderful rescue horses and ponies. Trail Rides, Summer Camps, Girl Scout Programs, Homeschooler, Extra Practice Times. Easter/Halloween/Christmas Parties. Pick-up at many schools. We offer a family fun place!... See More

Beginner friendly horseback riding lessons in both English and Western disciplines on steady, experienced horses.

Blue Mountain Farm is a quiet, privately owned facility in Frederick, Maryland, less than five minutes away from Route 340. By joining our lesson program, you will learn all aspects of horseback riding from how to safely catch and lead a horse, to proper grooming techniques, to tacking up, riding, and the things you should do after your ride.

Our horses are calm and quiet mounts, great for the beginner rider and timid riders, but they are also very well-trained and can challenge more experienced riders as well.

Feelgood Farm is now accepting new clients of all levels and goals. We are a show facility specializing in hunter/jumper training. We offer riding lessons to students ages 4 and up for our lesson program. We offer support, supervision, career management and a fun learning environment. Whether at our farm or at competitions locally or on the circuit, we aim to provide personalized attention to your goals and dreams.
  We strive to pass our experiences and other valuable information on to our students in a way that is both fun and challenging, while emphasizing safety and kindness to the horses.
Here you can learn the ins and outs of horses both on the ground and in the saddle!
We do not require formal riding attire but ask that the student wears long pants and closed-toe shoes with a short heel. We have riding helmets to lend to you initially to minimize your expenses while you are giving this exciting sport a try.

My experience in the horse industry includes; extensive involvements in the APHA (all-around) show circuit, field and arena polo, colt starting, jackpot rodeo, reining, cow horse, jumping, and dressage. I spent one year at a college prep school (Wasatch Academy) in central Utah where I studied / and teacher assisted their newly developed Equine Science Courses. I have interned and trained under many influential people who have shown me a variety of styles, techniques, and training methods. Most are simply trying to locate the fine lines between making progress consistently and hitting a wall and staying there. It really boils down to impeccable timing and loads of patience. I try my hardest to incorporate all of my past experiences with other students as well as horses to best fit the present client. My main concern in both training and teaching is trying to steer clear of fitting a square peg into a round hole. Qualified Instructor that will travel to you or you can ride at my facility using the school horses provided in the Poolesville/Montgomery County MD area. I specialize in finding your perfect seat for a comfortable and correct ride. My background is in hunt seat equitation on the flat and over fences, as well as training level dressage. I have been a rider most of my life, attended and graduated from Southern Seminary College in VA and rode on the intercollegiate open equestrian team under JT Tallon - courses included stable management, hunt seat equitation, equine biology. Currently, I personally ride only dressage but continue to teach hunt seat and training level dressage. I am 44 years old and have a lot of experience to help you feel comfortable with your horse on the ground and under tack.
