We are located in Verona and just a few minutes from Madison’s West side. Liberty Stables is not just another boarding barn…. We are a TRAINING facility that specializes in Beginner and Youth riders. We teach our riders the fundamental skills of Horsemanship, Sportsmanship and Team work. We have spent years developing a program that teaches our riders in a fun and safe atmosphere. We currently have over 70 youth riders and 40 Adult riders that attend our lesson or Horsemanship classes weekly. Many of which have been with us for 10 plus years. Our team also competes in many 4H, open and breed circuit shows. If you are looking for a place where you can learn to ride or achieve your dreams in horse ownership Liberty is the place for you!! We are a family orientated barn that encourages kids as young as 3 yrs to follow their dreams!

Jenny comes from a diverse background that gives her a unique approach to training young horses and instructing riders. From William Woods University Jenny earned a degree in Elementary Education and Equestrian Science. She understands how to teach and believes in meeting students (Horse or human) at their ability level and build their confidence step by step to achieve new goals. As an Army National Guard Infantry Medic, she possesses the self-discipline and medical knowledge to provide structure and safety. Working with young sale horses is a passion of Jenny’s and her experience as Realtor (Jenny Hewitt Realty with Keller Williams in Madison Wi) gives her an edge when it comes to marketing sale horses.

Jenny began her career in the western disciplines – specifically halter and showmanship, developed a passion for jumping, loving the graceful hunter and adrenaline of the jumper ring. My name is Britt and I am a riding instructor that works in Madison and the surrounding communities. My specialties include hunt seat equitation, western horsemanship, and Showmanship. Anita Di Modica has a B.S. degree in Equine Science and has been giving lessons, training, showing horses, and judging for over 25 years. She has been, and will be again, a WSHC, WI 4-H, & POA certified judge.

She uses humane, nonviolent, and fair methods for training, (a mix of Natural Horsemanship and Classical Dressage). She has trained and given lessons to numerous winners in huntseat and western pleasure, equitation and horsemanship, dressage, jumping and barrels. She has also trained many nice trail horses and horses that "do it all". All the horses she works with have the manners to do well in showmanship.

Abby is a USDF Bronze and Silver medalist (Gold anticipated in 2020), all aboard self-trained horses. She has coached multiple students to medal achievements, regional championship top ten placings, and year-end awards. Abby has earned several championship top ten placings, competed in US Dressage Finals, and received numerous year-end USDF and USEF awards. She is currently enrolled in the USDF L Program and is an ASEA Certified Equine Appraiser.

Abby provides individually tailored programs to help you and your mount achieve your optimal goals. Services include dressage training, instruction, sales, and competition services for all breeds and levels of riders. Curtis Stables is located in the beautiful rolling countryside west of Madison. The facility is on 40 acres with an indoor arena, outdoor arena, two 60' round pens, 15 acres for group turnout with water and shade, and 6 areas for private turnout. All fences are board or woven wire and in good repair. Shelters are available in all turnout areas. The barn has 11 box stalls and one double stall. It's built into the hill so it's warm in winter and cool in summer. The indoor has summer screens so birds are never an issue.

Instructor with over 35 years of experience: Sharon Curtis, M.S., L.P.C is a certified instructor emphasizing Balance Seat Riding which is transferable to all seats riding. Balanced seat riding teaches people to ride any horse, anywhere SAFELY. Students ages range from 4yrs.-80yrs. Group lessons contain 4 or less students with similar skills and abilities. Private lessons are also available. Very beginners through Advanced Jumpers. Coaching provided at all levels and shows.
