Welcome to EQUES Academy.
Our academy is based on a structured program that has proven and applied itself for the past 30+ years. We called it EQUES rider. This program is based on level. The student start at Rider 1, and will work to achieve their Rider 4 certification. Each student will learn and practice the skills necessary to graduate to the next level.
Our mission is to teach our riders to become better horsemen and horsewomen. Horse care, proper body position, safety around horses and body control are some examples of what our program teaches. Each Student will learn and apply important skills that can be used in any discipline they would like to pursue.

Offering private beginner riding lessons to children and adults in the English discipline.

Lessons focus on flatwork to develop and fine tune seat/ leg aids. Students have the option to learn jumping, ground driving and dressage once they have developed a strong foundation in horsemanship and aids.

I believe in giving students clear instructions, just as the horse would like from their rider. Students will begin on a lunge line to develop feeling and connection with the horse. Once the student shows they are able to control the horse with the use of their body versus their hands, they will graduate to riding off the lunge line. Clear cues are difficult to implement when you are expected to juggle body position, weight balancing, correct aids, direction and speed before knowing what you are doing. When solid foundations are built, riders will excel with advancements with ease!

Additionally, students may choose to spend partial or whole lessons to learn about horse care, anatomy and grooming/ show grooming.

My name is Wyatt McCoy I am 15 years old and live in Cove City NC. My family has had our farm ever since the 1800s we have raised cattle since the 1940s and we have always loved horses. I started riding horses about 6 years ago and I have always loved and wanted to care for horses and teach the next generation of horsemen and women. I currently have 4 horses of my own and am teaching lessons I have trained horses, I have worked with problem horses. I love working with problem horses because I love giving them a chance that someone else might not give them I have always loved to work with rescue horses and one of my horses is a rescue horse that me and my kids are working with to become a lesson horse for them to ride. I have done both Western and English. I have worked with all sorts of horses, the slowest that come and very green horses. I am also willing to board your horse as well.
