Stonegate is one of th emost elite riding barns in the Coolville area. Owner: Karen Hiehle has coached kids to the Maclay Finals, Pony Finals, and USEF Medal finals.Her son Michael Hiehle has his own IEA team which caters to the highschool aged children who wish to gain show experience and ride a variety of horses. Last year Michael coached his very first team all the way to zones which is only second to nationals. The approach to training either you or your horse is tailored specifically to your needs. There is plenty of opprtunity to show and gain the upmost confidence and experience. Shows are hosted regularly in the large lighted indoor arena and cost very little to attend.If you are looking to attend larger shows Karen and Michael travel frequently to Culpeper, Chagrin, Lexington(VA), and many other show circuits. Besides the highscool team, there is and intercollegiate team. The Ohio University Equestrian Team rides at the barn and often stays around during the summer to ride on the local and rated circuits.
Our boarding accomidations are very well kept due to our fantastic barn help: Justin Martin and Josh! There is a more affordable shedrow barn, that is situated next to the outdoor ring, which is getting re-done this summer as it needs some newer footing. There is also the slightly more expensive indoor barn, which is located next to the indoor arena. Both barns include a wash bay and two full tack rooms.
If your horse is in need of trainig, there are a few of the better riders, who often take on a few summer project horses.

Some of the girls at the barn attended the Chagrin Valley Farms horse show. They placed very well with many wins in the eq and jumpers! My program focuses on developing a working bond between horse and handler. In doing so confidence is fostered not only in the rider but the horse as well. This creates a solid foundation based on positive reinforcement and facilitates easy learning advancement in addition to preventing negative habits from forming.
I have been involved with horses my whole life. At age nine I began breaking and training ponies. I have shown with AQHA and NSBA for the last sixteen years and have had the opportunity to apprentice with many great horsemen of the industry. My personal achievements include 2008 NSBA Res. Limited Rider of the year, 2008 Reichert Intermediate Slot class winner, 2010 Reichert champion, multiple top five and top ten placings at the All American Quarter Horse Congress. Instructors are CHA and or CCHI certified. We teach from all four levels. Trail riding is available Tuesday through Sunday and closed Mondays except holidays. Homeschool and Afterschool riding lessons are offered in the spring and fall.

Ellen teaches lessons to people of all ages and experience levels. There are several school horses available so if you don't have your own horse the farm can provide an appropriate mount. Ellen also travels to other farms and is willing to work with you at your location. Although Ellen specializes in hunter jumper lessons emphasizing dressage basics she also enjoys taking her students and horses on trail rides.
