Camelot Riding Academy is an adult focused farm located on the Serene, no stress horse boarding facility in Cottonwood Al, where where the horse and rider comes first.
Formal FULL SIZE Dressage arena as well as a 100 FT round pen are used to school and instruct in. NO group lessons. Each person deserves our full attention. The riding instruction is overseen and given by one person that has over 50+ years of expertise. We teach ALL riding styles from enjoying safe trail riding tips and needs to Dressage lessons in the full size Dressage arena. All riders learn the ways to control and get the very best ways to communicate with the horses while enjoying and having fun! Show, Trail, Retired and horses in need of special care are catered to here.
Individualized feeding programs, grooming and TLC on 30 acres of horse safe lush pastures. Pastures have large run in shelters, individual feeding pens so that every horse gets what it should have with no worries about alpha issues.
We encourage Adult BEGINNER riders to make their dreams come true about riding horses! We are no longer accepting children under 12. Lessons are always with limited availability in schedules here.
Boarding is limited to already trained and well handled horses; no stallions.

Full-service horse boarding facility backs up to Turkey Creek Nature Preserve. The pasture is 5 acres with new Cameo Fencing installed in February of 2025. We have a round pin with sand for groundwork and a full grass arena. Our stables have 36 stalls, wash bay, drying/cooldown rack and 4 station cross ties for ease of grooming your horse. We are a private full-service boarding facility that offers Private 30 minute or Private one-hour lessons, leasing, training, rehabilitation, elder/hospice care. Our Training Board is $1600 a month, Full Board is $950 a month, Show/Rehab/Hospice Board is $1,200 a month and specialized pasture board is $750.

Our facility features 12 stalls in our show/training barn, we provide individual tack lockers per boarder. We have a separate barn for our schooling horses and lesson program with its own tack room. We offer two wash stalls with hot and cold water and a washing machine to keep your necessities clean. We offer a 20/40 meter small dressage arena in front of our show barn as well as well as a full sized 20/60 dressage arena at the top of our property with beautiful views of the valley. We have a huge jump arena a round pen and a cross country field with great terrane changes. We have 4 grass filled pastures and 5 shade paddocks so our horses have the best of both worlds grass at night and shade in the heat. We feed high end textured feed and timothy/orchard grass hay.

We offer boarding to all types of horses and riders. We are home to Grand Prix dressage horses to gentled wild mustangs and everything in between. We have an array of farm animals to keep your horses well desensitized and a pack of dogs who keep our farm animals safe.

We do things differently at GKM Equestrian, you don't just come get on a horse. You'll learn how to properly groom your horse with all the necessary steps to keep them and you looking your best. Next you will learn how to correctly and safely tack up your horse or pony. You will also get to experience many different types of saddles and bridles used in other riding disciplines. Our students are competent and knowledgeable about horse care and safety which allows their learning and riding to blossom with confidence. We are a small, dedicated professional equine facility, so we go for quality not quantity and don't crank out a lot of lessons each day. This ensures the horses' good health and a slow pace that riders can actually enjoy their lessons and get to know and love our equine athletes.

Most of our students are schooling lower-level dressage and beginning the foundation for jumping. Some of our students are of our boarders have competitively shown in mid to upper-level Dressage. We also have some Hunt Seat riders with impressive show histories. We own several school masters for the upper-level riders to enjoy. We also play around with the working equitation as is provides some fun challenges to our horses and riders.

We are conveniently located to Birmingham, Mountain Brook, Homewood, Irondale, Trussville, Leeds and Moody. We are a 20-minute drive from downtown Birmingham. Located just 3 1/2 miles off exit 1 in McCalla, you will find approx. 30 acres of pasture with excellent grass year round and a spring fed pond with two streams that run year round for your equine friends to enjoy. Our seven year old barn has electricity, running water, secure tack storage, feed room, lighted and covered hay storage, PJ the barn mouser, and wash rack. We offer free trailer storage and have a lighted round pen. We recently renovated an older motorhome and parked it near the barn for your convenience if you need to watch a sick or injured horse, or if you just want to spend the night for whatever reason. We currently offer the only public boarding facility with a COVERED ARENA in Lee County, AL. This allows our scheduled events to take place no matter what the weather brings, and it allows our clients to ride in suboptimal weather. Ours is a full service equestrian facility for beginners to the experienced show person. We encourage variety and expect acceptance at this facility as we welcome all disciplines. We offer two outdoor arenas, one for all-purpose use, and a jumping arena with a complete course. Both pasture and full board are available, though our number of pasture board spots stays limited and are filled on a first come first served basis. Our turnout paddocks all offer shelters. We have some super lesson ponies and horses, all of whom are available for 1/2 or full on-site lease, and even sale. Our facility is fairly new, with newly matted 12 x 12 stalls. All boarders have access to a secure tack room, 2 grooming, and 2 wash stalls with H/C water. We have a roundpen with sand footing. Full boarders are turned out in small groups of 2-4 horses. The facility offers two double stalls for long term convalescence or foaling purposes.
