Marcy has over 40 years of experience in the horse world. She started teaching herself to ride on her first horse, Whiskey, at a very young age and by the age of 10 she was showing Saddlebred horses on a national level. Marcy later began teaching students at Double TTK Ranch in Marietta, Georgia. Along with teaching lessons, Marcy also taught horse and pony camps in the summer, led trail rides on the weekends, and was responsible for the daily care and maintenance of over 100 horses. In 2002, she and her husband David decided to purchase their own place and have called Blue Springs Farm home ever since. Her students include many APHA Top 10 riders, the 2002 APHA World Champion in 10 and Under Trail, multiple IEA National Champion teams, and individual IEA National Champions in both horsemanship and reining.

Devon Olivier is a recent graduate of the University of Georgia. She rode on the eventing team while attending college. She was on the 2016 USEA collegiate national championship team. She won the Open Prelim division at FENCE horse trials on 4-17-17 on her horse Karisma. She won the Open Prelim division at Paradise Farms on 2-17-17. Devon has won the individual Gold in the intercollegiate challenge at Chattahoochee Hills horse trials twice while on the UGA eventing team. Devon has trained numerous Off the Track Thoroughbreds and has gone to multiple national competitions with her horses. Devon has been a working student for Michael and Sharon Poulin (Bronze Medal at the Barcelona Olympics in dressage). While there she worked on getting correct and effective dressage training under her belt. She then worked for Mollie Zobel in South Carolina who was an upper level event trainer. Devon has worked with or taken lessons with Doug Payne, Elly Schobel, Michael Poulin, Sharon Poulin, Gwen Poulin. She has taken clinics with Werner Geven, Dom Schramm, Kyle Carter, Leslie Law, Jon Holling just to name a few. Devon offers lessons in dressage, jumpers and eventing. Devon has training privileges at Ashland Farms in Walnut Grove which offers a cross country course from starter thru Prelim. They also have two dressage arenas and a jumping arena. I teach western riding lessons for ages 4 through adult. I have a 15 year record of safety and success with hundreds of riders both for recreation and competition. I own 17 horses and have my students learn to ride as many of them as possible so that they become excellent riders with many different breeds, sizes, and personalities. Our farm trains for and holds competitive trail riding competitions for those who wish to compete. We have miles of trails and many areas to ride. I teach 5 days a week, but I have a staff of instructors that allow us to teach 7 days a week. One thing that sets us apart from other farms is that we teach the rider the best control and balance by not using stirrups until the rider is at an advanced level. This teaches the rider to grip with his/her body and to become one with the horse when moving through the various gaits. We also teach the rider to use gentle aids that do not require much force and that foster building relationships with the horses. We teach low jumping for western riding as well for those who wish to jump obstacles out on the trail. My staff and I teach with patience and allow riders to learn at their own pace. We make the experience highly instructional in a fun and relaxed manner for the rider. Hand, Hoof and Heart is a 501c3 nonprofit. Our mission is to support self-growth, promote inclusivity and build a connection within the community through animal-assisted activities designed to improve cognitive, social, emotional, and physical functioning. Our program is open to people of any ages and any ability, but our priority goes to those looking for a therapeutic environment. We do not focus on competition and our program participants have a large part in designing their horsemanship journey. This program is not suitable for any rider that is looking to compete in equine sports. If you're not interested in riding lessons she offers for you to come out and just ride as well. Barrel lessons are available but you must have your own horse.
