Horseback Riding in North Carolina

Storybrooke Farms specializes in Hunters, Jumpers, Equitation and Dressage. Our objective is to provide children and amateur owners with competitive partners who are confident, safe, and athletic. Safety and horsemanship are top priorities. Storybrooke students not only to work toward mastering skills while mounted, but also to learn proper care and handling, as well as a basic understanding of equine psychology. We compete at all levels of shows from schooling to the ‘AA’ Circuit and instruct beginner through advanced riders. We are based out two of a beautiful facilities, one in Chapel Hill within 15 minutes of UNC and Duke, as well as in Wake Forest, 15 minutes north of downtown. Traveling Trainer services are offered on a limited basis within the Triangle. Trailer-In lessons are also welcome at either facility.

Lessons are taught by a certified American Riding Instructor, with over 26 years of experience competing, training, teach and showing all over the midwest and east coast. All level riders are welcome, beginners through advanced, ages 5 years old and up. Our program offers some of the safest, most competitive lesson horses and ponies in the area. Peoples Creek Equestrian is a full service equestrian facility offering riding lessons for all ages and experience levels.

We train in basic horsemanship, dressage, hunter jumper, English, western pleasure and trail riding.

Our 29 stall (12'x12') facility with access to 80+ acres of trails, a 125' x 225' arena, round pen is an ideal location for you to enjoy your horse.

Heart Centered Horsemanship is a method of training developed to provide mutual benefit to horses and humans. Techniques include relationship building, hands-on techniques to release tension and improve comfort and ease of movement, groundwork to develop connection and communication, adapted yoga practices, and riding to provide maximum benefit to horse and rider. Stacey Carter has over 25 years of experience riding, training, and competing. She has extensive experience starting young horses, rehabilitating "problem" horses, and working with rescues. She is a PATH Certified Equine Specialist in Mental Health and Learning and Registered Yoga Instructor. The Heart Centered Horsemanship Method has been incorporated into therapeutic programs and is the basis for Healing Connections at Midnight's Promise Equine Rescue, a weekly group that supports mutual healing for horses and humans. She teaches riders from the ground up in a holistic program that emphasizes safety, mindfulness, animal welfare, and having fun while developing skills that enhance all areas of life.

Equestrian Arts Institute is a true equestrian educational experience. We not only educate our riders how to ride, we always incorporate horsemanship educational opportunities. We give lessons for children ages 6+ through adult riders. Since 1972, MacNair's Country Acres has been boarding horses and teaching horseback riding. Our Hunter/Jumper/Dressage facility is located on 280 acres, minutes from downtown Raleigh, NC.

We offer boarding, training, lessons and showing, both on and off the farm and we compete at local through USEF AA shows.

For those without a horse, our Riding School lesson horses and ponies have a variety of specialties. Our beginner animals are patient and dependable and our upper level horses help more advanced riders further their goals.

MWM riding Camp is family owned and operated. We provide lessons for ages 3 and up. We are taking our youth off the streets and putting them in a saddle. We believe an hour of riding can change a child's life. We have a safe, comfortable, affordable, and loving environment. We also offer some therapeutic riding. MWM has a game room, class room, trail, outside arena, and much more. We welcome all riders. Lessons start at $15.00/hr so we can reach children that normally would not be able to get riding lessons.
