High Mountain Horseback Riding Lessons offers high quality horse training and riding lessons in Flagstaff. Focusing on proper training techniques, development in riding skills, and the enjoyment horses bring when taught correctly. For as long as she can remember, Debbie Jamsa has loved horses. Today, Debbie is living her dreams as the owner and head trainer of Happy's Dream Ranch.

After building their first ranch in Houston Texas 10 years ago, Debbie began her teaching career after a trainer she was working with asked if she would be interested in helping with her students. She quickly realized that her love and passion for horses was not just for riding, but it was to also share those values with others. Debbie immediately fell in love with teaching. After moving to Arizona, she continued to teach and studied to expand her riding and education. Debbie received certification through the American Riders Instructors Association and currently certified with the United States Hunter Jumper Association. In addition, after many years of study, Debbie has been approved by the United States Equestrian Federation as a 'r' Judge Licensed in Hunters and Hunter Equitation. She continues to work with and to inspire our students to develop better horsemanship as well as becoming better riders.

Fulfilling another life long dream, Debbie and her husband Kris founded the Sanctuary at Happy's Dream Ranch. The 36 acre facility cares for Retirement and Rehab horses as well as performance horses that just need to rest. Having the opportunity to care for these wonderful animals is not only a dream, but a way to give something back to them for all the years of service and unconditional love they provided for their owners.

Since early childhood, Jenny's passion has been horses. At age 7 she became affiliated with the United States Pony Clubs, an organization devoted to producing well-rounded horsemen and women. The emphasis there is on the teaching of riding skills, horse-care fundamentals and team participation with sportsmanship.

At age 17, Jenny exercised race horses and developed into an endurance rider. For 3 years, she was a working student for Sharon Pluniak.

In 1988 she became affiliated with an event barn and in 1991 she went to Ellie Stine to work on her flat work. While there, she purchased Bert from Ellie and trained him to Prix St. George.

Jenny has trained many horses of various breeds and in 1998 started her professional training career. Also in 1998, Jenny became an L graduate. Jenny has earned the USDF Bronze Medal.

Jenny has trained with top professionals including Charlotte Bredhal, Cindy Ishoy, Gerd Zuther and Ellie Stine-Masik. Currently Jenny brings Carla Symader in from Germany for clinics.

When you visit our facility, I think that you will be pleased with the quality of horse training and rider instruction. We are located in Waddell and are easily accessible from the towns of Surprise, Litchfield Park, Goodyear and Peoria. What makes us stand out is the flexibility that we provide to our customers in our training and instructional programs. There are riders taking lessons 5 days a week while others participate in weekly lessons. Some of our clients have horses in training combined with dressage lessons. Whatever your situation, we will build a program that will meet the needs of both you and your horse.

Our training ranges from green 4 year olds through FEI. Feel free to bring your horse to our facility for an evaluation.
