Cari rode her first GP horse with Wolfgang May when she had just turned 17 and spent close to 6 years working with him and several other of the Tempel Farms riders, as she became a trainer there when she turned 18. Cari has over 50 years of experience as a professional. She was a WS to Olympic coach Melle Van Bruggen and then spent 5 years working for Olympic team member John Winnett. Cari also has worked for or lessoned/cliniced with many, many top international known trainers such as Natalie Lamping, George Williams, Kathy Connelly, Mette Rosencranz, Hans Biss, Col. Hans Mueller, and Robert Dover. Having been on the board of the IDCTA for many years, Cari was privileged to have access to the clinics at Tempel Farms with Gunter Seidel, Conrad Schumacher, and Reiner Klimke. She always takes full advantage of every opportunity to learn everything she can in order to pass that knowledge along to her students. Her students and horses have won many local, state and regional championships and she herself won several National and Grand National Championships before she was 18, training Paso Finos for Rancho Del Rosa, first in IL and then in North Carolina. This enabled her to finance her dressage passion and to buy her first nice horse from Bodo Hangen, who kindly made it available to her for a reasonable price. Because she had many trainers who helped her on her journey, she likes to help other young people on their quest, as well. Cari also suffered a severe TBI in 2007 when a horse fell on her. She was wearing a helmet, which the doctors say saved her from either death or more severe permanent disability, and she very much enjoys working with student who have disabilities. Heart to Hoof Horsemanship with Yvonne Welz: Riding lessons available for serious students who are interested in learning about classical schooling of the horse using bitless bridles. A focus on natural horse care, barefoot management, and classical techniques that are health promoting. Well-trained bitless schoolhorses are available for riding lessons. They are priceless! Yvonne offers a unique approach to riding and horse care that is centered around what is truly good for the horse.

Current 2023 rates: Private lessons $65 per hour at our facility, which includes the use of one of our schoolhorses.

Yvonne Welz is a professional horsewoman with over 35 years of equine management and training experience. Formerly a competitive dressage rider, she schooled many horses up to an advanced level and achieved national awards with them. Always focused on learning, Yvonne studied the finer art of classical horsemanship even while she was competing. This included the French classical methods, which she learned directly from world class horsemen. She loves passing on this valuable knowledge to her riding students. She has trained many horses from scratch, starting them under saddle and schooling them to higher levels. She finds great joy in teaching horses how to use their bodies in a way that improves them both physically and mentally. She studied several different methods of natural horsemanship, and also trained in equine nutrition, saddle fitting, and barefoot hoof trimming. In 2013, she discovered the bitless wheel bridles and embraced classical riding without the use of bits! Yvonne is an Associate Trainer with the World Bitless Association.

Leif Aho is an international trainer & competitor as well as a USDF Gold, Silver & Bronze medalist all earned on self trained horses.

Leif is a kind and tactful trainer that understands his horses very well and trains them all as individuals. He does NOT train LDR or rollkur, instead he teaches his horses to reach into the bit, push from behind and to be light and supple in his hand and off his aids.

Leif has brought several horses to the Grand Prix and has earned scores as high as 76.8% with his current FEI mount Classy Sinclair in intermediare-1 freestyle in 2019 and scoring a 76% in the I-2 in 2020, and a 68% in their first Grand Prix weekend in 2021 with FEI 4* judge.

Major Beale was a reserve rider for the British Equestrian Team for the 1960 & 1964 Olympic Games in Rome and Tokyo and won the Prestigious Burghley 3 Day Event in 1965. In recent years he re-entered the competitive arena in the field of dressage, competing with much success through Grand Prix and has earned his USDF Gold Medal. Major Beale has an extensive clinic circuit, which takes him the length and breadth of the country, as well as abroad.

Stephanie Blockley - Clarke has been a well respected, successful instructor, trainer, competitor for over 35 years. Receiving her initial foundation in Dressage from Dietrich von Hopffgarten for a number of years, she has always continued her education with teachers of high calibre such as Olympic judge Linda Zang She is currently hosting and participating in clinics at Meadowgate with Jeremy Steinberg and Wolfgang Scherzer. From Training level to FEI levels, Stephanie has school horses able to teach you the feel of the levels to which you aspire. Meadowgate's 60 acre facility is unequaled in it's variety of options of mud free individual turnout pen, paddock, and pasture options, which is something that is increasingly difficult to find these days.

The very tall heritage barn with its great light and air offers extra large stalls, bright wash rack, 5 crosstie tack up stalls, indoor walking area for inclement weather, on-site laundry service.

Trails abound just outside the back gate, there is a bridle trail around the farm as well.

The covered 70ft x 200 ft arena surrounded by covered 15 ft aisleway has an adjacent outdoor 70ft x 200ft arena. Both arenas have sand and rubber footing that is diligently maintained personally by Stephanie to a very high standard. The arenas are available for haul - in usage by prior arrangement - $15/time or $80/ month unlimited.

Horses have individualized feeding and turnout programs. There is a late evening barn check by onsite staff.
