North Windsor Farm LLC offers lessons for ages 5 and up beginner through advanced, as well as horse training. We are accepting new students for the Winter 2021 season! Please check out our website to learn more. The facility is 20 acres with large 180x70 indoor arena connected to the barn, heated viewing lounge, and large 200x80 outdoor arena. We are conveniently located at 139 Locktown Rd in Flemington NJ on a quiet road just off Route 12. Our horses are the best of the best as far as safety; they have done it all. Lessons are typically 1 hour and are tailored to each rider's experience. We do not jip rider's time on the horse. We also do evening lessons to accommodate those getting out of school and work. Chrissy began riding hunter/jumper as a young child and learned from many different instructors and horse trainers growing up. As a teen she worked with her sister taking care of 40 horses, many just broke and inexperienced, and she would teach them the basics and to jump. She would ride from sun up to sun down learning from the horses. She also rode with the University of Delaware Equestrian Team for 4 years. She has always gravitated towards working with troubled horses and spent several years as Assistant trainer at a farm that specialized in retraining the unfixables. She has taught & trained at many different farms throughout NJ, from upper level show barns to backyard farms. As an instructor & now in her 30s, she is known for being attentive, patient, encouraging and listening to students. Too often you see instructors on their phones, not paying attention, holding students back, or pressuring them to do things they are not comfortable doing. She is all about safety and teaches the correct way to use your natural aids to communicate with the horse. We have very well trained safe horses. Pony Gang Riding Academy is a small family run horseback riding school and located in Hopkins, South Carolina on the beautiful 28 acres large Pony Gang Farm. Ascend Equestrian was founded on the principle of family, friends, and providing a safe environment in which to learn and have fun. We focus on building a well-rounded horseperson by not only teaching students to ride, but also providing lessons in horsemanship, sportsmanship and showmanship. It is with this focus that we build successful riders who are competitive both at the local and national levels and contenders at national finals year after year.

Ascend Equestrian offers a comprehensive lesson program for children and adults ages 6 and up, from beginner to advanced levels. Our lesson program features small classes with no more than four riders in a lesson at a time, scheduled according to age and level, providing individualized quality instruction for all riders. In order to provide a safe environment that is conducive to learning, there are never more than five clients riding in the arena at a time, a feature that is unique to our training program.

Beginner riders start off in a private lesson to learn the basics of steering, controls, and position, before progressing to a semi-private lesson. Lessons are grouped according to level, age and height jumping in order to maximize progress.

Our lesson times are as follows:

Private Lessons- 30 minutes
Semi Private with 2 riders- 45 minutes
Semi Private with 3-4 riders- 1 hour

In addition to time spent in the saddle, riders should plan to spend an additional 30-45 minutes before their lesson and 30 minutes to an hour after their lesson grooming, tacking, bathing, grazing, and caring for their horses. Initially, this process will be guided by one of our instructors or working students, with the goal of creating independent knowledgeable horsewomen and men who can care for their own mounts.

We offer several safe, quality school horses of all sizes, skills, and levels from beginner to advanced. We treat our school horses like our top show horses, providing for the best possible experience for our riders on horses that are happy, healthy and ready to perform their best for their lessons. Our school horses are never ridden more than 5 days per week and not more than once per day and have access to the same top care provided to our show horses.

We invite new clients to schedule an evaluation lesson to meet our horses and instructors and learn just how fabulous our lesson program is. This evaluation lesson also serves as an opportunity for our trainers to assess our new clients’ riding and ensure that we can provide the best possible horse and lesson suitable to their needs and goals. After the initial evaluation lesson, riders are required to sign up for a minimum of one lesson per week in order to continue in our program.

Jes Skudlarek, owner of Livin' A Dream Farm runs an inviting training program for new riders as well as accomplished equestrians. As a Bronze Medal dressage rider and an International Level Eventer, her teaching style focuses on building a foundation in the saddle that allows a rider to excel in any discipline they pursue. "Horses have always been my life and will forever be." The kids program includes riders as young as 6 years old. Lessons are private one on one instruction allowing for students to develop at their own pace.
